Busses, Alpha, Air start units, GPUs and runway are ALL **** at Leeds.
If you dont like it.......then walk away from it, you shouldnt be slagging off the hands that feed you, if you know what i mean!!!!

There are plenty of other people looking for work (including myself), and i would be very happy to work at LBA........

I would say it was not slagging them off, more like making a point that needs addressing, if LBA is going to make a go of things, investment should be made.

Prawn,

The GPUs are fine. Just not enough of them.

Jet2 don't own any airstart units at LBA, let alone one. That service is provided by Servisair.

I'm still considering the rest of your post.

Well, whatever one may think of Ryanair they're not slack with regards to operations. We'll have to do a lot better and lame excuses of we only have one airstart unit etc won't wash with the pax.
All they want to do is get from A to B. If jet2 continue to penny pinch anymore than they do already we'll have no planes flying and they can make all the excuses under the sun!

I wonder how all Jet2 flights seem to be on time or early.

Why would Jet2 need their own ASU? It's not as if it's needed on a regular basis!!

Probably because they do actually maintain their OLD aircraft properly and do seem to try and provide a good service. In my 9 or 10 Jet2 flights so far I have only been delayed once and that was only 45 mins, the captain apologised and said it had been due to earlier delays in Pisa. We actually landed 35 mins late.

I for one wont be rushing to fly Ryanair as I have only flown with them once and whist the outbound was fine I was abandoned along with my family when my reurn flight was cancelled due to poor weather. I was offered a flight 3 days later! I ended up taking a taxy to another airport (£100) and took a flight to LPL not Stansted! To cap it all they tried to charge me excess baggage as one bag was 2Kg over whist the other was 5Kg under! I ended up swapping kit between bags and holding up check in!

I strongly agree with Hooded, ASU issue has never held me up, besides, who cares who owns them? If J2 have to pay Servisair to use them and they can, who gives a toss?

I would rather they 'penny pinch' in that way (I actually see it as good financial practice) than the way RYR do, Gestapo on baggage weight, 40 Euros to print BP, rubbish customer service, pushing down T&Cs for flight crew (eg BRK pilot contracts)......need I go on?

I will not be rushing to fill their nice shiny new A/C. I hope they end up having to scurry back to MAN at normal rates.

HOODED

One thing is for sure, they are OLD aircraft ! and take far more looking after than, lets say the newer generation of 73`s.
Whilst J2 keep these old things flying, they need to maintain a good level of spares, something i gather they struggle with
In your 9 out of 10 flights, you have been lucky, i know of lots who have not, myself included.
I for one, would sooner work for Ryanair than J2

99.9% of Ryanair pax will not have heard of Pprune so the voice of loyal J2 fans and employee's on here are just being baited by the equally loyal Ryanair fans and employee's.

There is room for both and it will make both the ground handlers and the airport raise their game.

J2 kit needs more support than Ryan's because it's older, in the last 3 years i can only recall one or two Ryanair aircraft using an airstart machine (any where)and have lost count of the number of times i have seen J2 757's on the cargo ramp at AGP with either engine covers open or stairs up to open APU casing

J2 do seem more customer focused when thing go wrong and i applaud that, perhaps if J2 prevail at LBA (over Ryanair) it may be a pointer for other's?

I can sit on the fence concernig the loyality of employees having worked for both !
Looking back, and its not that long ago, J2 certainly need to get thier act together, quickly, the honeymoon period is now over at Leeds, a more stronger and competitive company is moving in, i for one welcome Ryanair, its going to be better for the customer at the end of the day, and LBA employees.
