Confirms delivery today of third aircraft from Thomsonfly. Apparently the aircraft will commence operations in november, following "fit out", and the new route, from LTN, will be announced shortly, as soon as regulatory approval has been granted.

ex-XL 767s?
With XL recently announcing a big scale-back of its fleet, three 767s should be leaving the fleet: 763 (1) 762 (2), leaving two for their own operations.
So basically what I'm saying is, would Silverjet be interested in their two CF6 powered 762s?

Not so good on the way back though!!! Lets hope it's a bumper route and goes double daily as well, could generate some serious through traffic then.

The loss was for the year till the end of March 2007. This is money burned before they started flying and in their first few weeks of operation.
In the last 6 months they have slowly ramped up the load factor on their first flight to Newark. A second plane starts on that route from around the 23rd September. Starting their second destination will lead to more stress on the cash flow until it builds trade. I think they are going to ask shareholders for more cash. The more useful stats is now much cash it is burning at the moment.
The rising cost of fuel is going to hurt the start-ups

Apparently a second hub, based in Dubai, features very high in Silverjet's expansion plans. Routes from Dubai to South Africa, India & various points in South East Asia, as well as increased frequencies to the UK are all under consideration for the coming months.

The interesting thing will be to see the split between 'genuine bedouine' business folk and those that want to travel with some degree of comfort on hols down there.
Having said that it will be only 'mad dogs and Englishmen' that go out there between June and Sept!!!
Silverjet could well be on the right track with this one - especially if it will tie up with their transatlantic destinations.

Read a few articles in NY/New Jersey press about flights from US to Dubai and they all note the 11 hour stopover at Luton. Would be OK if they have done a deal with a curtain new Hotel complex just off the 08 approach, time will tell but I think this could be a winner, haven't the competition at STN talked about such a route?

Tend to agree with 'Category 5' in terms of size of business Market.
Just saw CEO of Silverjet on Bloomberg and he's claiming 3.2M psgrs
to DXB v 4.2m to NYC per annum and therefore Silverjwt won-t have a
problem filling 100 seats per day.
Not sure if he-s talking all UK points to these points rather than LON ?
CAA stats for 2006 show 2.75M LHR/JFK v 1.375m LHR/DXB , eactly half.
Plus a high % on DXB routes are not point to point , they are connecting
on to EK network to OZ, Far East , S.AFRICA , India , Pakistan .
The point to point Mkt to DXB which is what Silverjet can go for ,is
probably considerably less than 50% of LHR/NYC pt 2 pt and within that
the Premium pt to pt is probably even smaller % again compared with NYC.
Also the fare differentials are a lot different.
Silverjet Fare to NYC is substancially less than the next major carrier and
probably 2/3 less than carriers like BA/VS.
As omeone has pointed out elsewhere EK are selling Business class
for £1270 in Nov . Is EK service on 777 or even A380 worth a couple
of hundred pounds more ?
Its really too hot in DXB JUN-SEP which stifles demand and in the
Oct-May period its often very difficult to get Hotel accomodation and
this restricts demand as well.
We-ve also seen how EI have fared on DUB/DXB v Dub/U.S.A .
Sounds like a bit risky to me , maybe Silverjet would have been better to expand U.S service ( think they talked abt ORD ).

They were gonna start flights between Bermuda, London Stansted and Wilmington, North Carolina. This is the Bloomberg article about it (the one the stock exchange announcement was in response to).
Silverjet Shares Drop as U.S. Rival Sues Over Plane
Sept. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Silverjet Plc, the trans-Atlantic business-class airline that started flights in January, fell 5.8 percent in Londontrading after a competitor said it sued the U.K. carrier over control of a Boeing Co. 767 airplane.
The stock fell 5 pence to 81.5 pence in the biggest decline since Aug. 8. The shares are down 39 percent this year, giving Silverjet a market value of 36 million pounds ($73 million).
Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based C First Class Corp., owner of FlyFirstClass, said it had a contract with FlyJet Ltd. for the use of a 767-200ER airliner until Silverjet bought FlyJet in November 2006 to take control of the plane, according to the lawsuit filed in federal court in New York.
Luton, England-based Silverjet has suffered recently from delays because of unexpected maintenance work on one of its planes, and Finance DirectorJohn Bavister resigned this month after the airline posted an 18.2 million-pound fiscal-year loss. The carrier said today the lawsuit was ``without merit.''
C First Class gave FlyJet a $750,000 deposit for the 767 and spent $2 million refitting the jet, it said in the lawsuit, which was filed in July and publicized by the company in a press release yesterday.
``Silverjet had agreed to provide alternative 767 ER aircraft, a breakup fee of $1 million and additional compensation to mitigate and ameliorate the harm done to C First Class Corp. but has not honored their agreement,'' Gabrielle Griswold, a C First Class spokeswoman, said in the statement.
Motion to Dismiss
Silverjet will file a motion on Oct. 1 to dismiss the lawsuit, it said today in a statement. Reiterating a Sept. 17 comment, the airline said it ``is of the opinion that the complaint is without merit.''
Silverjet, which is competing with network carriers and other business-class airlines by offering gourmet meals and seats that convert into beds, disclosed the lawsuit in a note in its earningsreport for the year ended March 31. No provision for the suit has been made, the airline said Sept. 17.
FlyFirstClass is planning to operate 767s between Bermuda, London Stansted airport and Wilmington, North Carolina, as soon as it gets government approval, according to its Web site. The company would be the fourth trans-Atlantic business-class-only carrier in operation.
Its planes will fly 90 passengers in first- and business-class seats, with services including individual DVD players and an open bar. An onboard chef will prepare meals such as maple-glazed pork with vanilla bean mashed potatoes and grilled salmon with guava sauce.
