I know it is a model of aeroplane (Boeing) but what excatly is it
NG is new generation. For B737's this means the 600, 700, 800, 900 and 900ER models

Surely, when you see comments, as reported by the Daily Record like...
Founder and chairman Tom Dalrymple and new chief executive Rick Green told the Record the airline have had a good - if not exceptional - year.
This seems a trifle conceited to me. OK, the GSM balance sheet may look OK at the moment, but just look at Skytrax web-site & see that the customers remain just as p**sed off with GSM as they were last year.
The perception given by these comments, is that GSM don't care what the pax experience is, so long as they make a profit. I'm sure that this is NOT true - but their comments should have been mitigated with some humble acknolwedgement about better customer service in the future IMHO.

AFAIK the commercial argumnets for using a 737 v a B75 or 767 across the pond for around 100 pax is rather convincing

Looks as if GSM are considering kepping the 733's! Maybe MME's being very persuasive.
Flyglobespan

Perhaps no one wants the 733s. What's the market like for an old 733 with the amount of aircraft being parked up there must be some slack in the system to get a good deal on a lease extension. If I owned a 733 I would rather have it flying than sat in a desert or a damp UK airfield costing parking fees than flying for a few quid less.

There must be a chance to go for it summer 2008 in the UK has been bad so people will want a better chance of something decent in 2009.
I say stick both the 733 into MME advertise like hell avoid the Ryanair ALC route and go for it.

The old saying you must speculate to accumulate, MME catchment where there's muck theres brass.

Good luck if you dare.

I think it could be a good thing if GSM tried the basing of 2 733's at MME again but don't forget there clapped out old things and G-OTDA does have a knack for going tech rather alot!

Though theres a chance GSM might want to use one of those 733's for BCN flights instead of 752 which frees that up. However they might use it on one based and another "w" pattern.

Thats unless ofcourse GSM get NG'S alongside the 733's stayin then most likely the 2 would be based.

Plenty of options lol

*GSM now top of the board for going bust on PaddyPower, think its a wasted bet or justified?

Hmm. I mooted this scenario back in August (Post #1052).

I have an idea it may always have been the plan!

Not exzactly sure on that one, but i doubt its that old especially if you compare it to the likes of Jet2s fleet!

Just another stab at Jet2 TD has a bigger perosnal wealth of 75m than Jet2 owner Phillip Meeson who only has 40m though i wouldn't mind having that in the bank If anybodys interested
Search the Sunday Times Rich List 2008

I have a feeling now anyway that GSM won't leave MME, if they do however they will have a massive backlash from the press after them constantly syaing there not leaving.

Think GSM will ever re-open a base at MAN and take on jet2, bmi etc on sun routes?

No because they can't make a success of either Stansted or Teesside and the one time they sold tickets from Manchester long haul to Cape Town it didn't go teriibly well.

In airline terms and especially with the cost or fuel being as it is, and not to mention the state of the economy I would suggest the these amounts of money are not alot. (Irrespective of who has hedged fuel etc etc)

Summer 09

Currently :

EDI - 2 X 73H, JO & JP and 1 73G, FC
ABZ - 1 X 73G, JF

KT has not yet been allocated, MME?

The 733's are still showing leaving the fleet from Feb 09

This is GSM and will most likely change!

Sad to see her go! Photos: Boeing 737-683 Aircraft Pictures | Airliners.net

Is KT staying now? Would help if it did.

Think GSM will find S09 harder competition wise especially at EDI with Jet2 squeezing in, easyjet and Ryanair?

The only problem with GSM's MAN-CPT route was the schedule being op'd by 1 aircraft with no spare to take up the slack due tech problems.

So, Skippy, how did GSM's MAN-YHM, MAN-YYC & MAN-YVR routes go? Suprise, suprise, GSM will be doing it again next summer.

GSM has a MAN base with an office with a crewroom, based pilots & cabin crew. GSM's Maintrol department is also based at MAN.

Hot money on airline collapse - Business News, Business - The Independent

Seem as Paddy Power has taken Alitalia off the list, GSM has nudged it's way to top place.

Are the punters going to get stung on their bets or not..time will tell, I guess!

Post the link to Paddy Power. I checked out the PP website & couldn't find the link to the airline bankruptsy section.

I'm dying to have a 'flutter'.
