GLA to LHR tonight

Anyone know why BA1493 1715 GLA to LHR is cancelled tonight? Staff here at GLA are saying ATC at Heathrow have cancelled the flight, doesn't sound very likely as all other London flights are leaving (admittedly with some delays)?

thanks

Lots of BA shorthaul cancellations around LHR due to a ATC systems failure (according to BA.com).

Just to put the record straight (for those readers not in the know), ATC does not cancel flights. The operator may decide to cancel flights as a consequence of ATC capacity restrictions (which will be quite severe if there are system problems).

Human Factor,

I am sorry to say that by saying "computer system fault at Swanwick" you add nothing to the debate apart from the usual "let's have a dig at NATS". Almost everything in life has some sort of computer in it so your statement has every chance of being correct. I believe that the problem is concerned with the move of TC from West Drayton to Swanwick on Friday night. Every possible action was taken to ensure that the move was smooth and if there is a problem now it was unforeseeable and the delays which are being experienced and which are highly regrettable are because the NATS staff are doing everything to ensure safety.
