I don't see why there would be. Those bases are already on the kind of pay and T&C that they want for the Irish bases.

Why expand at outstations when things are on the retreat at your home base??

If FR get a bigger grip on DUB, EI could find themselves homeless (or based at an airprt with minimal flights)!!

I wonder will there be any reductions at Belfast or Gatwick...
nope, UK Bases aren't EI's problem, its ROI bases... if anything we will probably see expansion at Belfast and Gatwick over the next year or 2

Does anyone know the plans for the new Washington base? Will it be short haul/domestic US routes or long haul/European routes, or perhaps a mix?

Aer Lingus has announced the resignation of Sean Coyle as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Short haul operations. Mr Coyle will leave Aer Lingus by mutual agreement at the end of December 2009 to pursue other interests. He will also resign his position as a member of the Aer Lingus Board.

He's only there a year?

Wonder if Mr. Coyle will return to his position at Ryanair before the end of the year?

How long will it be before we see schedule reductions on the Aer Lingus website regarding the aircraft Aer Lingus are reported to be getting rid of?

Looks like the termination of the "cost saving" contract with Astraeus might be the herald of the big crisis that has been looming at EIN. That together with the diabolical loads out of LGW seem to be conspiring nicely to drain the last remnants of their cash. Suiggest that you all watch this space with great interest. Big announcements probably after New Year.

Steady on now boys and girls. An airline with more "free" cash in the bank than Ryanair ain't going to be disappearing anytime soon.

It's not a coincidence that an ex member of management presided over the finances while his real boss watched on from across the tarmac in Dublin rubbing his hands with glee.

What now? Aer Lingus being managed by an extremely talented management team all rowing in the same direction? Sounds like trouble for Ryanair in their own back yard to me......

Now, back to the simplex.....
