That's a very well researched Caaardiff and well written. Both you and planenut have taken the time to look these things up. Well done you and pn.

It's very interesting what you've written and as we all say, only time will tell what will happen

They been having problems with sourcing aircraft, apparently due to the MYT A320's being unreliable. Over the last two days we have had a Neos 767 doing theTCX routes which departed back to Milan this morning.

Also today there are 3 TCX Dalaman flights, anyone know why?

07:20 Dalaman TCX955K A320
08:00 Dalaman TCX293K A321
18:55 Dalaman TCX492K A321

Turkey in Vogue

The reason why TCX has done 3 x DLM today is due to the fact Turkey has been selling better than Spain due to Euro issues.

likewise TOM has changed cax from Spain and Portugal to increase Turkey. You will see for the majority of this Summer, more cax into Turkey than last summer.

There was were 2 extra 757 flights to ACE and TFS in April for the school holidays, but no other 757 from TCX this month.
TCX have had a really bad start to the summer. Mainly due to 4 aircraft being grounded at some point over the past few months because of damage caused by ground equipment, nothing to do with the "Ex MYT A320's being unreliable". Every aircraft and airline has its share of tech problems.
Also TCX is awaiting delivery of a new A321 from Turkey which is late being delivered, which replaces G-SMTJ thats now in Scandinavia, hence the Neos flights this weekend.
The extra DLM 955K is for the bank holiday, not sure if its also school holidays again? The other 2 are normal schedules.

bmibaby today (28 May 2009) launched their new flight schedule for Easter 2010. The low cost carrier is now selling flights until 18 April 2010, allowing customers to plan ahead and book early to secure the best deals.

Also on sale for Easter from Cardiff Airport are: Alicante, Belfast International, Edinburgh, Geneva, Glasgow, Grenoble, Jersey, Lisbon, Malaga, Murcia, Palma.
Trying Lisbon again??
(I won't hold my breath)
LIS isn't on the WW timetable, but FAO is. Yet FAO isn't on the press release list??
Neither is BCN for 2010!

I hate to say it but airlines that are desperate to sell flights 11 months in advance only need one thing - cash in the bank. This is a worrying sign to me, low cost carriers are not the sort of airlines that sell many seats 11 months in advance.

I think WW are trying to prove something to the new bosses in Germany.

Well I would tend to disagree with the above statements regarding WW being desperate, selling 11 months in advance. BA also allow a very long advance booking period. IMHO their being smart, as most other LCC's won't release schedules and seats that far in advance, the punter might think thats a good fare and just book.

So I really do think it's a wise move for them but if they start chopping and changing schedules and timings, it may cause alot of headaches.

My 2 cents

I don't think this really means anything. Maybe BCN will become full time seasonal in 2010 so won't be on there as its not May. And Lisbon may not have been added yet. As for Faro....they won't get rid of that, thats one of their best seeling routes.

Planenut - I hope so as I am a city break traveller!

Just done EZY from BRS to VCE- fab service...I am starting to become used to using BRS as the only relastic local base to Europe's cities!
The sad thing is that, as with NCE last year, the flight was close on half full with welsh travellers!!

CWL mamngement are really losing opportunities as I have said many times on here before. I will now continue to use EZY from BRS.

I have checked on the link provided by planenut but is doesn't show any flights from CWL to PRG at all, well not yet anyway. Could be a glitch in the system or maybe something they haven't told us yet.

As for Bobby's comments, I have to admit that I use EZY from BRS more than WW as they are head and shoulders above what flies from CWL. And if flights have a substantial amount of people from this side of the bridge on them, then I agree with WBs comments on the Management at CWL are losing out.

As for FFB, well there has been no announcement since October and I think it's really bad that they haven't updated their blog. It gives out all the wrong messages and gives the impression that as there is no news or even an update that doesn't say much.....well it speaks volumes!!

100% agree with you on that.

With Easyjet doing flights from Bristol to Corfu, i booked flights back in January for £95 each including a bag to travel in June.

Thomsons and ThomasCook wanted double that price.

I bet half of them are from our side in wales who would much prefer to go to cardiff than to trek to bristol

Ryanair in Cardiff today.

Great to see the Echo advertising Ryanairs 1million seat sale again, on page 3. More pax for BRS !
Talking to a taxi driver at the airport rank, they are waiting between 3-5 hours daily for a job of flights?

Summer of Discontent has officially started

I don't think you can blame the Echo for taking an advert from Ryanair.

Ryanair are paying them for the privelage of running the advert you know and Trinity Mirror aren't doing it out of the goodness of their heart (they need the money by all accounts anyway).

It would probably be more constructive if someone could find out the management at Cardiff Wales Airport aren't running an advert in the Echo to push the products they have on offer.

Airports don't pay for advertising, airlines do.
Easyjet are always advertising on Welsh media. They have a base in Bristol, as do Ryanair, South Wales is a catchment are for Bristol. Logic?

Fact is, we're in the summer season. Economy is still crap, airlines are still tightening up. NOTHING is going to change in the near future. So why keep complaining?
Everyone has just got to ride it out and wait and see what does happen next year, or the year after.
The airport is still open. The strong routes are still being operated and people still have their jobs.
