Hardly news at all, these have been on sale for around three months!
And as for this drivel "And for the first time ever you can now fly from Cardiff to Egypt with Thomson's new route to Sharm el Sheik..." haven't TOM been doing this as a wintersun destination for two years, I seem to recall a bit of a fuss over it being the fastest ever selling new charter detination from Cardiff. Also was a popular route last summer with XL / Mytravel.
So while other airports are busy announcing bucket fulls of new routes Cardiff finally get around to publicicing something that happened months ago!

Nice to see an announcement about TOM expansion, even if it is just the routes FCA used to do.
Maybe be a bit more specific where in Cyprus, that its LCA they are taking on, seeing as they've flown PFO for the past year?
First time during the Summer! *thanks Monkeyb, forgot about XL last year!*
Nice to see such a wide variety of brochures on offer.... just a shame there's a plug for Long-Haul when we wont have any after Oct!!
With FCA's 787, BRS will soon be the Long Haul winner!
As for BRS it seems to be new route after new route. Someone on the forum stated 25 polish departures a wk with the new announcements. CWL cant even manage 1.
....this is giving me a bad head....
BRS is already getting too busy for itself though. With mroe a/c, and more pax it will need that extension sooner than expected. Thats one thing CWL wont need to worry about spending on!

I'm assuming sometime in May, possibly mid may when the full schedule will kick in.
FCA do NAP from CWL anyway, so it would make sense for them to take it on. Pula would be a nice new route for them, even if they flew it on the 733 to test the water with.
Its still not confirmed if MYT will take on SFB. They have always been the main tour operator on the route, using Monarch. I just hope if they do, that its not a split with MAN/BHX like it usually is at start of the season.
Who knows, with XLA getting A330's next autumn, we may eventually see an SFB route high season with them. The 743 is nearly always full, even if it does only operate for a few weeks in school holidays.

XL Airways are going to be using the A330 for Summer 2008 and not the B747-300 - much better as it actually fits on an air bridge !
I see the list of flights for Sep/Oct/Nov is growing - most probably for the World Cup. Blue Panorama have added a flight to PSA with a 734. Also loads of flights in/to CPH with both Thomsonfly and My Travel Denmark using 733,321 & 752 aircraft - anyone know why or what is lined up ?
I'm surprised that no airline has tried CWL-BRU since the demise of Air Wales. Eastern were supposed to operate the route but it never materialsed. A 2x daily service would surely be viable. I agree that CWL needs to get some links to major cities in Europe, such as; Madrid, Rome, Milan, Marseille, Munich, Vienna, Zurich etc.

I see San Sebastian on the arrivals board for today - its only a little Brasillia but nice to see something other than Palma on display !!!!!
We really need a European flag carrier here like Air France or Lufthansa Cityline or even Brussels Airlines, just give us something other than KLM. Not slating KLM as they are great for CWL as they have stuck with us for years but we need a variation of choice here.
Couldnt the management of CWL even tempt in Swiss or something like this - just never seems to be good news for CWL compared to BRS

The aircraft used to do both the NCL and the BRU flights, i'm guessing this is the reason why T3 hasn't done a CWL-ABZ from CWL as it must have been planned using the CWL based aircraft.
The problem with the BRU was that the most i had seen on the flight was 7 passengers.
Thomson
Anyone know when the rest of the TOM flights for S08 will go on sale as only the following are on the website at the moment. What TOM airaft are gunna be based at CWL in W07 and S08?
BJV
BOJ
CFU
DLM
SSH
GRO
LPA
ACE
MAH
PFO
REU
RHO
TFS
ZTH
CWLFLY Website
I must say that the website has been updated quite regular over the past 2 weeks and i like the translation of the articles through welsh, it is a shame that they don't have adverts for new flights on their website unlike on the BRS wesbite (even though we do have our own booking engine).

Reference the Thomsonfly aircraft for Summer 2008, plenty of rumours going round but what I have heard there will be x2 B737-300 and x2 B757-200, one being the old BRS aircraft. Some others are saying more than this, but this is realistic to cover the FCA routes alone.
MYT/TCX who knows what they are doing yet............
I remember when Air Wales were around and they operated Swansea-Amsterdam, some diverted to CWL due weather at SWS and the loads were quite good, I think on one there was even 36 !!! So how Eastern found the BRU route unprofitable ????
Bring back the Air Wales ATR's and routes I say, at least the arrivals board will be worth looking at !!!!!

Its still not decided what Thomson are doing with the livery and aircraft with TOM and FCA but I do know what all of the MyTravel Aircraft will be painted in Thomas Cook Livery, and I likely think that there will be an A320 based at Cardiff Next year, possibly an A321

Does anyone else think that the baby programme for winter might have a few holes in it? Palma down to 1* weekly, Malaga dow, and expected but no increases in other routes? Remember also Ibiza isn't running and all other sun routes are limited as well!

cwl4eva - now that you say it it does look a tad patchy especially on some days where it looks like only 2 a/c are needed for the timetable.
E.g on Mondays (just looked at a random week in November) EDI, BFS, AMS, GLA and AGP are the only routes served and these can be completed with 2 a/c. The same goes for Thursday where the timetable is sufficient for 2 a/c to complete. Not only on these days but if you look at Tuesdays and Wednesdays it still looks a little light with long gaps between different routes one as long as 18 hours I recall!
Don't get me wrong I'm no expert in these things but it seems very strange to have one a/c lying there all day especially with a low-cost model - it does seem inefficient to say the least!

Fly for Beans
I am personally sick of the name, I am sick of deleting posts on the subject and I am sick of those who have a hidden agenda and are out to cause trouble.
So, this is what will happen. There will be no more questions or answers or posts concerning FFB unless and until they get an act together - in other words a fully effective AOC.
Then, and only then, can the subject be bought up like any other recognised airline.
Till then please refrain from making any comments about them. NO FFB posts!

Just been looking on the thomson website and have seen that destinations for Jan 08.
ALC, BCN, SSH, FAO, FUE , FNC, LPA, JER, ACE, AGP, MIR, PMI, PFO, TFS
Not Sure how it compares to W07. The S08 flights are now on sale to.
ALC, BJV, BOJ, CFU, DLM, FAO, FNC, GRO, LPA, HER, IBZ, EFL, KGS, ACE, AGP, MLA, MAH, MIR, NAP, PMI, PFO, REU, RHO, TFS, ZTH
At the moment theres no flights available to book for JER or BCN so not sure if they will return.

BmiBaby
BmiBaby will be offering 9 destinations this winter with the following flights on the following days.
Mon - AMS, BFSx2, EDIx2, AGP, GLA, GVA
TUE - ALC, BFSx2, EDIx2, JER, MJV, GLA
WED - AMS, BFSx2, EDIx2, AGP, GLA, GVA
THU - ALC, BFSx2, EDIx2, JER, GLA
FRI - ALC, AMS, BFSx2, EDIx3, GVA, AGP, PMI, GLA
SAT - ALC, BFS, EDI, GVA, FAO, JER, AGP, MJV, GLA
SUN - ALC, AMS, BFS, EDIx2, GVA, AGP, GLA
The GVA flights commence at the end of December. It would be nice if something new comes on the BmiBaby schedule for the winter flights but unfortunatly i don't believe there will be. Just be aircraft sat on the ground as they did last year. Could have brought back the PRG and the seccond daily GLA just for the winter.

It would be nice to see XL back at Cardiff in S08, it wil be verry interesting to see what happens with this rumour.

I see Zoom are operating a CWL-JFK flight during November, out on the Sunday and back on the Thursday. It is split with LGW. Is this the first of many and a possible new schedule for CWL ?????? This is also being sold in the local press as a "one-off" charter.
Reference to Thomsonfly JER & BCN routes, these will be operating but these flights have not been released yet...... usually released towards the end of Winter 2008.
Anyone know how many TOM aircraft we will have for Summer 2008 - latest being x2 733 and x2 757's.......
Regarding the XL Airways flights for Summer 2008 there is nothing listed (yet) however I know that the A330 will be doing the SFB for Summer 2008 as mate currently flies with them and have been told this.
Have also seen some more airlines have added flights for both the Rugby World Cup & Boxing, going to be some fun ahead !!!!! Best thing is, this is not even the Six Nations Rugby so still have all this to look forward too.
