Casualty...

i-fly, agree totally with your thoughts but the BBC is rumoured to be transferring Casualty from Bristol to BH, Llandaf. You never know, it may give CWL and S. Wales a bit of free publicity along the lines of Dr. Who etc. As the ad says... every little helps ?

l believe Casualty and Crimewatch will be based in Wales completely in the near future-not just a rumour It was fun to see them today-

and so what we are quiet on a Wednesday-we always have been since I started here years ago!! At least there was some excitment to be had today....although we can only dream that our departure board would show what theirs did...JFK/Dubrovnik etc!!

I would love the airport to be busier-who wouldn't, however it isn't going to be in the near future so no use moaning, and comparing to Bristol (we are far better than them in so many more areas!!) lets all just make sure our passenger (you know who you are lol) receives a first class service from the moment they get into the terminal building to the time they take their seat on the aircraft...be the best and then when our time comes for a passenger increase we can be truely proud to work in Cardiff!!

Im off down the local for a few pints as I'm on my Hols, I will give this one some real serious thought, and perhaps re visit PPRUNE later, if I have come up with something.

Indeed Mathers you are correct-both outlets are award winning...nothing for Bristol...I know that will be laughed at however one step at a time!

Talk to the customers we do have they return year after year-why if Bristol is better....it's because they enjoy flying from a friendly, local airport instead of being part of the cattle that is Bristol (I work in both airports by the way...and am not bashing Bristol, I admire what they do with the room they have....the caviar restaurant is genius )

I just believe that we should work with what we have-I know the route development is frustrating, but we can't change that...what we CAN change is people's journey through the airport

And Birdscarer...tut tut I am not paid to entertain

(believe it or not our security is a FAR better experience than Brissol!!)

*waits to get shot down in flames*

Would that be the fine local Butcombe ale that is now being served in Zero 9 in BRS Mr Ranger?

The thing about returning customers is they are just that! It's no good if its only 8 people + a sheep named Gwen that always insists on flying Ewe-nited Airlines! They are bound to be biased.

The caviar bar thing is a bit of red herring....its actually a Spearmint Rhino in the evenin!

Question Sandford, Orlando?

Help please???
1. Again, lots of pax going over this Thursday gone, will it be back next year? (SFB).
Always seems popular.
2. Are there any extra rugby flights next month for the 4 rugby matches, New Zealand, Canada etc. at Stadium (most sold out)!
3. Is that a "Herculeus" army plane that keeps flying over today?
Very quiet too, for a 4-prop.
thanks.

No sign of SFB returning. Thomas Cook (who charter Monarch) are selling it from BRS using TOM/FCA a/c.
Lets hope 2010 brings some better news!

I would say that propbably not unless there may be a late launch. If FlyGlobespan sees a success with the Toronto they may give Sanford a try as they operate it from other locations.

I haven't heared of any extra flights for the Winter Internationals at the moment as there never usually is with fans flying into the UK via other locations. There maybe a charter for the teams but not heared anything as of yet.

There is a flight coming, bringing in the All blacks, with regards to long haul flights, i was speaking to Thomson crew a couple of weeks a go and they quoted to me " in 2010 Thomson are making CWL a long haul base again, bringing back the SFB, CUN plus many more new long haul routes.". I don't know how or where they got this info from but surley it's good news if true. Any news on the Monarch rumour that was flying around with regards to them operating an A321 next summer.

That is intriguing and would be good if it is true. I think given the current situation it would be pretty safe to assume that there won't be any major new routes from CWL in S09, which is hardly surprising. I think the airport now needs to concentrate an d with a bit of luck some good new routes in S10.

Where is this flight with the All Blacks coming from?

In the past couple of years these where operated by Air Wales and Air Southwest from various regional locations in Ireland its normally for a group of All Blacks supporters from way way down south that follow the team around.

Servisair are looking after the All Blacks - flying in with Blue Line from Paris CDG on a Fokker 100 as per previous years. The Canadians & South Africans never really fly through CWL - they use LHR.

Also the Regional Rugby flights have started to kick in, Aer Arann, Eastern, Air Southwest, Aurigny, Pronair, Blue Line and no doubt many more to follow, then there is the Six Nations - apparantely the Wales v Italy match will be the biggest and busiest this year.

Aer Lingus already are selling x3 A330's and x1 A321 for the Wales v Ireland so looking quite busy.

Also remember the Father Christmas flights to Lapland aswell !!!!!

The Monarch rumours are still rumours - hope it happens but knowing CWL we will probably loose out.

Rubbish report from Wales On Line.

There is no switch of focus to charter and leasing - this makes it sound like scheduled will longer be part of the plan.

Nine aircraft to be used for scheduled, remaining 4 will be used for charter / leasing.

Key scheduled routes to be retained, though I would guess that frequency cuts could be in the offing too.
