Something I've always wondered - Northern Ireland lacks a feeder into any of the continental European airports. KL feed AMS from much smaller UK airports than BHD or BFS. Why is this?

That's because we don't need one, we have all the connections we need through heathrow, with bd at the city and aerlingus with BA at the intl. However it would be nice to see klm/air France in the local market

There are numerous destinations which are not served from LHR, which are poorly served, which have poor timings or high costs etc.

A link to FRA would also provide ground connections throughout Germany.

Just had a BAe146 pass overhead on approach to BHD. Showing on the arrivals board as ZT3031 from Gatwick and callsign AWC03A - isn't this a mail flight for Aldergrove? Something changed?

Titan 146

Could be the Fulham Football Team arriving to play a match in the Europa League tomorrow Thursday. It will probably return late on Thursday or Friday morning for the trip back to Gatwick.

Has there been any change in flight path recently for aircraft departing BHD on 04 heading towards Bangor?

The past two weeks they seem to have been coming over Bangor West alot lower before starting their climb.

Maybe I am answering myself here but could it be do to with the Summer Season now in full swing and a busier airspace for flights coming into and out of BFS?

Flybe emercency landing

Flybe dash has just landed with suspected smoke in cabin. Aircraft stopped at old terminal. Airport fire service , and all blue lights also met the aircraft. Passengers eventually bused from aircraft to the terminal.

So with CAA figures for June indicating another awful month for bmibaby on Belfast-Stansted (approx 40% loadfactor, pax volume down from 32,455 with Ryanair last year to 9,227 with bmibaby this year), does anyone know for how long bmibaby are going to persevere with this total disaster area?

If they cant get decent numbers in Summer then what hope is there in winter for an improvement, EZY currently have 4 flights per day (different on Sat/Sun) this will increase to 5 on Mon, Thurs, Fri for winter. Advertising has been of a decent level for BHD-STN, timings are alright, despite the poor loads, prices still seem quite high... with the summer charters next year being very expensive even from the first week for sale compared to BFS.. is it the price thats not filling the STN flights?

Pax numbers on BHD-STN are poor, but there has been quite an upward trend so far in average pax figures per flight so maybe they will persevere until the launch of the Euro routes. Advertising and awareness this end is pretty non-existant though so that can't help.

Bmi baby

I think that their holiday routes will be really successful. I was looking up flights to Majorca for next year in July and the prices are very competitive against Easyjet at BFS. One of the flights only has 5 seats left already. I would certanly rather travel from the City to Europe than from BFS. EZY havent even put their fares up for next summer and because of that i think BMI BABY will do really well on sales. I am seriously considering booking a flight for next years holidays before they sell out. The only thing i would be nervous about is how much runway there will be to spare on take off. I would say there wouldnt be much

''Only 5 seats left''... at the current selling price, not just 5 seats left for sale on the flight.

As for runway... there'l be plenty enough

How do you know Baby's fares are very competitive against easyJet's for next summer, if, as you say, easyJet's fares aren't even available yet?

Yes sorry thats right i didt see the @ sign lol. Although that still means that it is selling well.

And yeah i know there will be runway left i was kidding. I dont understand why Ryanair couldn't have done any European routes though??? They were complaining over nothing?? Maybe they just wanted out of BHD.

I was using this years fares as an example but i suppose it changes when its closer to the date. But i think the prices would be competitive anyway as they are both low cost airlines.
