New Scottish route?

Today`s Gib Chronicle quotes a Government Minister, Neil Costa, who says they are in discussion with Monarch in respect of new and different routes. Speculation is that the new route will be from Scotland. Will have to be with an A320 due to runway length but interesting nevertheless

Could anyone explain why in recent days I have sometimes seen planes apparently landing across the bay when the wind appears to be in the west ?

Monarch needs a geography lesson!

so the latest sales e mail from Monarch tells us that Gibraltar is an island. :

You really would have thought that they would know what constitutes a definition of an island!

Could be worse I flew from Gib in March on the BA flight. The MCO indicates it was issued in Gibraltar, Spain

After arguing with the German BA customer for three weeks they finally admitted their cock up.

Sorry, in this context MCO = ?

(Obviously it is wrong, just wondering what you are referring to).

Unless you do mean Misc Charge Order? But I didn't think you would, as these normally come up ok. How did you book/what did you pay for?

N.b. Monarch flying LGW-GIB tomorrrow with a party of school kids that have won a monarch competition.

Excellent, I've wondered why there were no flights to North Africa from GIB. Do Air Malta still operate from GIB too? I know they did summer charters a couple of years ago.

Cheers and good luck to RAM

I know it was way past its sell by date but it was a bit of a gem..The check in area was reminiscent of the inside of a flying club of the type you would find in a bygone era and the `business class` lounge in departures used by BA was like your maiden aunt`s chintzy front room circa 1948 not to mention the duty free cubby hole in the arrivals area complete with one solitary baggage belt.

Was due to be extended and completely refurbished until politicians egos took over and the £80m white elephant was built, serving less than the daily number of flights that Doncaster does

I`ll miss the old terminal, it had the charm of a bygone era and fitted well with GIB

I only wish I could remember more of my only visit to the old terminal years ago when I went with my dad for a drink on the terrace

Rumours going round that a New Tower, taller than the terminal & fire station will be built on the opposite side of the runway.

Also anyone know why the Royal Air Maroc Express flights have stopped? I haven't heard why
