Nice to see Jet2 having some success at newcastle recently. The 737s are running like a charm on the whole with very few delays apparent. The MJV and AGP have been going almost full all this week along with the PMI and TFS on very Good loads and the corfu full since the beggining. Well done and hope it continues all summer.

She still is this summer! Reverser light illuminated on take-off roll at Curfu last monday, causing RTO and a few knock on delays.

AD now back on Tuesday..............

LS loads have been good. TFS full last night as are PMI's.

Companies decision to drop KRK, BGN etc hopefully now beginning to make sense to all those who thought it meant it was the beginning of the end for Jet2 at NCL.

Winter schedule still not looking good though

Jet2 KRK BGN

Totally agree with you RE Bergen but KRK was going out with 180+ Last summer so maybe a 737 rotation would have been good say TRI Weekly however still jeep up the good work J2

Very quiet winter indeed for Jet2!
- TFS 1x rotation a week till June 2009,
- MJV (but stops from 02 Nov till 09 Feb)
- ORK Thu and Sun only
- CMF 2x weekly
- ACE 1x weekly

So looks like a very quiet winter for all aircraft and crews. I know NCL usually picks up a few charters as well. The 757 is a frequant operator for TCX in NCL
Speaking of which does anyone know why TCXs PFO is indef delayed, MIR delayed from 1525 to 2300. AYT about 90 mins late inbound, my sister is on the TCX ZTH tonight which uses the MIR aircraft, curious if anyone knows their plans for tonight

Just a guess, but possibly the inbound delayed PFO aircraft will operate the ZTH rotation, probably a couple of hours late! I believe both based aircraft suffered tech problems today.

I got the call about the PFO here in resort. At first, they thought it would be a couple of hours, then it was confirmed 7 hours. There was talk of bringing in another a/c, but they probably couldn't get one. The MIR flight was ok, then it went to 7hrs, so I'm just wondering if the PFO was supposed to be a 14 hour delay but they used the MIR a/c. Two 7 hours opposed to ine 14 hour delay? Can anyone answer this? Yes, the ZTH is followed on from the PFO flight. At least it made up a houple of hours last night.

Yes TOM will stop the PUJ next year but MON will continue with POP, alternating Friday’s with CUN.

I see TCX have unfortunately another long delay with the Larnaca flight which was due in at 1755 yesterday showing a provisional of 0730. Is this the same aircraft with the long delay last week too?

Shame about the PUJ flights - apart from our 8 hour delay outbound the service on board was fantastic, and it was great to fly from NEW instead of taking a trip "daan sarf"!

I thought they had caught up with themselves and only had a couple of hours delays here and there. It's now due 0940.

The problem with Newcastle is that we wait years for a decent long haul charter destination, and they put one on which worked ie POP - then "hey! that works, lets stick three more flights on!" It's overkill especially the way the holiday market is expecting a downturn next year.

I diasgree that its "overkill".

If you look at how many passengers from the NE region book typical package hols to the likes of Dom Rep, Jamaica, Caribbean & Mexico then a service from NCL should in theory work. The PUJ flight has been in fact very popular this season, with flights generally 100% full, though maybe the reason for the service getting pulled is that many pax are late deals, earning less revenue for Thomas Cook, Thomson etc.

This year we have had 2 Orlandos, 2 Cancuns and 2 Dom Reps (different airports - PUJ and POP), but I would say thats probably about right. Monarch have the right idea and alternating flights fortnightly - maybe that is the way ahead for regional long haul departures?!

easyjet

interesting note on newcastle in easy's statement this morning:

"Overall, the UK regional bases are delivering good results particularly at Newcastle and in our Scottish bases"

maybe some limited expansion to come next summer?

There have been some really cheap deals on the PUJ flights so yield is probably quite low.

Certainly for next year, TOM are not very competative at all regarding PUJ!! Around £200-£300pp more for the same hotel and fortnight in June than TCX flying out of MAN. Maybe that has something to do with it too? Shame too, as TOM were way cheaper this year...think Travel Agent could be right - if they haven't had much yield this year maybe the prices have had to increase next year to compensate? Certainly if fuel prices had risen that much then I would expect to see TCX pricing at a similar level but there is definately a significant difference!

Eastern Airways

Is it true it has now been confirmed Eastern will be leaving swissport as of october and does anybody know the plans. Is it Servisair / Self handling / or 3rd HAndling Agent???

Also is Easyjet up for renewal and will servisair be keeping them?

I did ask a question a few weeks ago about the new agent supposedly coming to NCL, run by ex Swissport management. At the time I believe the plan was for to concentrate on catering, however with Gate Aviation also purchasing the Eastern Airways self handling business, I do think that Gate could be the new T3 GHA if what you say is true AviationNE!

Regarding EZY, how did you hear it was up for renewal? If so, I think most likely it is a 50/50 race - Servisair are far from perfect, but then again neither is Swissport. Just like everything in life, they have their faults and strengths.

Only time will tell.......
