Really.......................?

I'd rather look at young good looking (and only rarely, according to most pax) miserable cabin crew than old fat ones!!

(NB This is meant to be light-hearted before all the PC amongst you start complaining!!)

Have the new Jet 2 EMA mail flight run and the UPS MAN freight service started yet?

No not yet. I believe the service down to Manchester is still to be confirmed.

With more postal strikes being threatened the EMA route may take a bit more time to get started I suppose. I had hoped the UPS MAN route would have got going by the end of August.

If there was going to be a MAN service, it would have been Fed Ex to tie in with the MD-11F service which started last month - not UPS.

Not NCL but I was reading today that Delta and Continental are barred from Heathrow. Anyone know why?
(It also mentioned that a single pair of take off/landing slots at LHR are traded between the airlines for up to £20mn)

Anyone got suggestions on the best way to get from NCL to New York? Via LHR? DUB? From Edinburgh/Glasgow?

What about via Amsterdam, then you only pay one amount of TAX.

Keep forgetting about AMS. Sounds a good suggestion, though.

which ever one is cheapest! BA is far superior on service to EI and KLM but LHR is more expensive on tax.

Personally, I would go with BA direct from MAN where you get service and don't have to pay for a connecting flight!

Of course AF via CDG is another possibility from NCL! Another way would be to use Jet2 to LGW and use DL to JFK, flew with DL last summer LGW-ATL-LAX and they were great.

Anyone got suggestions on the best way to get from NCL to New York? Via LHR? DUB? From Edinburgh/Glasgow?
The answer to this question is that often you will get the dest deal from KLM / AF who codeshare in any event. Other times via BA - AA via LHR I Prefer KLM - AF as one can go out on one & back on the other which makes offers a greater variety of timing & aircraft selection. For me I look for AVOD which you get on the 777's & KLM A330's but often not on on others. Anyhow the main point of this is that I was sourcing a NYC return, out & back for 5 days prior to 20 Dec 07 & without too much trouble found may options from NCL sub £350, cheapest being advertised as AA via LHR for £306!, which I eventually took. However out of curiosity I widened my search assuning at these rates there must be some great deals on direct flights from EDI or GLA on CO, as can't stand LHR, but not the case much more expensive !, but on the other hand plenty of availability. So my point is this, is it actually practical to offer NCL - NYC direct at what is likely to be a significantly higher price for a service that perhaps saves one 2 hours in total journey time, but only being of real relevance if timings happen to fit. Note also that as for IFE, at this time US bound 752's currently only offer overhead TV's in Y

I must admit that AVOD is a good selling point but I keep hearing bad things about AF and I've had bad experiences(sorry sir, the flight is full and you're not on it) with KLM.
I am also not a fan of Jet2 but flying via LGW sounds quite attractive and one I'd not thought of before.

Flying to NYC from DUB you can clear US immigration before you leave Ireland making arrival much less stressful and you pay a lot less government tax. You have the choice of EI, DL and CO. DL and CO were barred from LHR because of the agreement between the UK and US government, that has been swepped away now by a new EU agreement. DL are meant to be commencing services from there in '08 to ATL and JFK I believe.

Adelez.... no offence but having worked for Jet2 previously I can assure u, if the cabin crew are miserable you wanna try standing back and looking at yourself! I only operated MAN-LGW but on those routes where its full of business folk who think they know better cos they fly once or twice a week max (to our 5-7 days a week) I find those routes the worst, cos you folk are so bloody miserable yourself, IF the crew are rude its prob becuase they have been ignored from start to finish, from even showing your boarding card at the door you folk dont even take the time to look at us, never mind a "hi" or "morning", during the demo all you can hear is the banter of conversation or the rustling of the daily papers, you then do nothing but compare the service to BA (when can i remind you, ba is a full service carrier with a repuation of havin popmus miserable crew, where as Jet2 are a no frills airline and the crew are prob the last thing that gets complained about)
You wanna avoid Jet2 the bugger off to BA and LHR then! its people like you that made me think "screw this" and left!

Yes but is it worse than the pain of rubbish DUB timings on connections from NCL?, EI don't market NCL-NYC as they can't do a through route without a night stopover. So you look at a Loco, then at best you have to hope they run to time, and then allow enough time to pick up & drop off baggage. Unfortunately at this time all of this far outweighs the percieved advance US authority clearance at DUB

Are there anymore Jet 2 Winter schedules to come or is that it?
I understand that summer flights from NCL will be announced within the next two weeks. Lets hope that we get a bumper bundle like LBA, they didn't disappoint this summer.
