Bye bye barbie
The 145 based in GLA is becoming a third Q400 in mid June. The original plan was for the change to be in September, so the plan has already changed, meaning all the recent documents received from EXT are already out of date.

after last wednesdays flight from DUS to MAN at least my Finnair points were correctly logged.
Air Berlin is certainly a far better product, altough travel is via STN.

Don't worry about the Inverness crews Chrism20, most are down in Exeter converting to FlyBE operating procedures. There are a few left who go down next week and a few flights will be subbed out until they come through the sim and line training and get back.
The result is that they'll then be able to fly all of the FlyBE 146's instead of the ex Bacon ones. Manchester 146 crews have already done this and now have a newer larger 146 to play with for the time being. I'd expect G-OINV to return post TT with either a white finish and a couple of FlyBE stickers on, plus proper FlyBE paperwork and suchlike up front. If you fly with them regularly, you'll notice because the dings before take-off will change to a spoken message, not much else.
Evertually, they will go missing again to do EMB195 training and then re-appear with a shiny new Uberjet sometime next year.

Flybe ticketing
I have been checking prices on Exeter>Avignon. Over the last week the price for a June flight has got cheaper. Does anyone know how long this goes on for? Does it start going up again when it gets nearer the departure? Or does it depend on present numbers booked on that flight? Apologies if I am writing this in the wrong place. Do all budget airlines operate the same system? Is EasyJet different? thanx in advance

There is allready an DH8 with Spirit of the highlands on the side.
Just a questions. How many spare A/C do Flybe have?
There Is a E145 still at CWL that went tech on Saturday Afternoon, Yesterday morning a DH8 went tech at CWL then a 3rd A/C had to come from EXT with flightdeck and engineer operate the route. I'm not sure if that A/C went tech in CDG or not but i know it picked up an extra delay there.
thanks

It's not a question of spare a/c - more about manpower. V.stretched on flightdeck and I think engineers. Certainly got no engineers based in CWL, not sure if there are q400/E145 dual rated ginger beers at Flybe. If not, 2 sets of engineers to be sent down to CWL.
145 went tech sat morn with nosewheel steering failure. Questions must be asked if it's still there without it being looked at. Maybe it's been sold?!!!

It was looked at on Sunday by 2 engineers but not sure if they returned since. I know that they needed to do Taxi Runs to test the A/C. The problem is that it's blocking out one of the stands which has a gate, it should be on a remote.
They must have spare A/C to be able to bring and extra A/C after 2 being on the ground Tech at CWL at the same time.

One thing Fly Be are not short of is spare aircraft ! There were 14 parked up at BHX on Saturday afternoon ! I know I counted them. Now whether there was anyone to fly them that is another matter. FO told me he'd been to Exeter which is a real car park !
Scary.

Hi all
GNTZ seemed to be tech at Inverness yesterday, it was there when I arrived at 12 and still there when I left at 5. Yesterday's Flybe service was operated by a Girjet Fokker 100 complete with Spanish cabin crew, who initially at least had to ask the ground handlers at Gatwick where they were going. Flights were ok but no refreshments/drinks at all either way, not a big thing but it is when you only have a short while in the Highlands. Another, all white 146 arrived at Inverness as we were departing but I couldnt see the reg, possibly a Flightline one? MANS was at Gatwick when I arrived back as well.

If all the Dashes are going to be painted like this then I'll not be able to identify an Aer Lingus aircraft just as easily any more. I do like it better than the existing crappy livery though, it makes the planes stand out more I think.
