It was nice to hear an easyJet spokesman actually praising the airport for the way they handled early morning snow and ice today on the radio today.

They do seem to be doing better this year touch wood - More staff? More kit or better mangment of what they have? Does anyone know.

What about taxis?
When I was dropped off this weekend the black cab went through the barriers, did a quick U turn near the limo area and left without entering the real taxi rank, thus saving him a bit of dosh!

Wizzair to discontinue Zagreb Service

This is actually a couple of weeks old now, but sure I havn't or anyone else mentioned on here, but seems Wizzair are ending the three times weekly service between Luton and Zagreb...

They have been operating this route for about 4 or 5 years now and seems strange to be discontinuing it now...

It was one of those odd ball routes for the airline that was operated from Luton, but not flown from any of their other bases so required them to fly a W route!

I suppose now they are not the exclusive low cost carrier on the Zagreb to London route with easyJet starting up the route from LGW, this will bite into the possibly fragile loads, that could only sustain a 3x weekly service. Wizzair pulled out of Ljubljana in Slovenia a few years ago, when easyJet started flying this route.

Also the airline will soon be flying to Belgrade from Luton and it could be possible a number of users of the service have travelled by land from Serbia to Zagreb to use this route and will now be able to fly from Belgrade which has always been very expensive to fly from in the past, with the lack of a LCC to London.

Wizz Belgrade

I think Giles that you will find that Wizz have been operating from Belgrade to Luton since the end of July 2010. Would not be surprised to see a yet another new route to replace the Zagreb service though or an increase on frequncies of an existing route.

Ryanair S11

It appears Ryanairs summer schedule has been updated.
Trapani , Las Palmas , Arrecife and two of the three weekly Tenerife Flights are to be operated by a/c based at those bases.

As a result even with Girona now being loaded there is a daily slot available leaving LTN around 1800hrs.(in fact on Mondays it looks like there are now two slots around 1630-1800hrs)

As Bratislava has not been loaded as yet i wonder if there is to be an announcment of a new route.

Anybody in the know?

Thanks for this info!

My mistake, sorry!

I didn't think the Belgrade route was starting until the Belgrade base is established, which is in a few months.

Happy new year to everyone on here!

Luton has a new airport website just like BFS and the Live Flight info is hard to get to. It should be a lot easier as it would be one of the most impotent pages.

The one good thing is that anybody can customize the Home page to suit them.

daily slot available leaving LTN around 1800hrs.(
Ryanair - Luton - Bratislava operating daily for summer 2011.
Depart LTN - 18:15
Return LTN - 23:05

I really couldn't disagree more...

When you go to the homepage it takes you to a very attractive splash screen and you simply select "Airport Information" and the flight information is there and can press the downward arrow to reveal more departures and arrivals.

As much as we like or dislike it, airports are businesses and are going to give priority on their website to chargeable services where they can make money. eg Car Parking, Priority Lane and Travel Services.

On whole the website looks very fresh and does the job nicely, in my humble opinion.

Ya but your average person would expect it to bu under Flight Information like every other airport and not Airport Information.
