The property is located on Kimpton Road, just five minutes’ walk from the airport terminal building and next to Luton Parkway railway station.
A tad more than 5 minutes walk I think

Miracle
A Miracle happened for me on Tuesday, i arrived at the Roundabout at 06:30by the Hilton hotel no que. Turned left to go under the Tunnel no que, straight into the Car park outside the easy Hangar. The first time in six months i've absolutely sailed to work, the only problem i got there a bit early never mind it was a pleasure.

The hotel will trade as a Hilton Garden Inn.
The new hotel will be built just to the left of Sterling Place Napier Park

Monarch A330 due 1210 31st Oct from Palma-- out 1310 empty to Orlando (sfb)
Even without passengers onboard, but fully loaded with fuel will be cool seeing that clear LTN runway!
Am I right in thinking Monarch use to operate the A330 on a weekly charter to SFB for Airtours from LTN around 2000 to 2003. Did this flight operate with a restricted load, as I am sure it did the route non-stop?
------------------------------------------
On a seperate note, but while on the subject of transatlantic flights... There were rumours a while back that tour operator Canadian Affair were going to start weekly services to Toronto from the airport in Summer 2010. They use a mix of Air Transat A310's and Thomas Cook 757's to operate the routes from other UK regional airports...
Anyone heard or know anything?
EZY reductions 2010
Now posted on their website are the summer 2010 schedules, which seem to show a small reduction in numbers of flights over this year.
In the first week of July I found:
Aberdeen 12 departures per week
Alicante 14
Amsterdam 18
Athens 0 (ends 27 March)
Barcelona 14
Belfast Harbour 13
Belfast Intl 0 (ends 30 June)
Berlin 12
Bordeaux 10
Budapest 7
Cagliari 0 (ends 27 March)
Paphos 3
Dortmund 13
Edinburgh 0 (ends 30 June)
Faro 14
Geneva 14
Glasgow 20
Grenoble 0 (ends 18 April)
Hamburg 6
Ibiza 7
Inverness 8
Istanbul SAW 7
Krakow 7
Lisbon 14
Madrid 14
Palma 14
Malaga 15
Mahon 5
Milan Malpensa 6
Montpellier 5
Nice 14
Paris CDG 16
Pisa 7
Sharm el Sheik 4
Tel Aviv 6
Turin 0 (ends 18 April)
Vienna 0 (ends 27 March)
Warsaw 0 (already ended)
Zurich 12
Total per week 331
(At 80% LF, 52 weeks per year this represents about 4.3 million pax)
I understand that Grenoble and Turin are winter-only routes. I had already heard that Athens, Cagliari and Vienna are to be dropped next year. The surprises are Edinburgh (which I presume just hasn't been loaded yet) and Belfast International (which I thought was continuing to run once daily in parallel with BHD)
Can someone say whether this represents the much-vaunted "20% reduction"? This week anna.aero says that EZY has 293 weekly flights at present, although that is in November rather than July.

On BBC 3 Counties Radio, earlier this week the CEO of easyJet was the breakfast show and he said the airline would very shortly be announcing "deep cuts" to their services and to staff at LTN. He made a point the services being cut would be beyong the usual seasonal winter cuts we are use to at the airport...
Some people could however say he is using the local radio station, as a soap box to further bully the airport and council into getting what they want.
If you were to believe what he says, I would caution anyone booking flights beyond April or May with the airline from LTN, until a further annoucement is made. As it could be possible you will end up seeing a flight you are booked on being changed or cancelled altogether!
I personally think we could see further cuts from the already published timetable.

Nuclear powered telly booster! No wonder there was interference! Chaps in the tower probably enjoyed listening to Corrie!

Windjet
Appears Windjet have dropped LGW flights for next summer .
Noted on the airDB site and checked on Windjets own site LGW has disappeared completely.
Does this mean good news for LTN or are they pulling London completely!!

LGS6753, the BFS actually finishes on the 06 January and tranfers to BHD from the following day 07 January. Interestingly, there are 14 departures up until the 30 June and from the 01 July this reduces to 13 with the second Saturday rotation deleted.

Just done my annual Club 18-30 holiday (sheesh, they don't get any easier ), well done Luton Airport and Monarch. Early Sunday dep, no problems with baggage drop off and security. Home today and 28 mins after touch down was in a taxi. Is it usually this quiet on a Friday afternoon?

easyjet 2010
Had a look at one week in June 2010 and it seems 15 based aircraft, a very tight schedule with no gaps and 49 flights on a Monday, not counting
away based aircraft.
How does that compare to summer 2009?
I know it is not ideal looking at just one week out of the summer schedule but it seems very precise (when compared to some of Ryanairs bases and their first releases).

The rumoured two EasyJet A320s have now arrived and are operating the longer flights, plus some busy short ones (eg GVA). Sharm el Sheik, Paphos & Tel Aviv all start this week. Possibly as a result, El Al has replaced its 767 with a 757 for the time being.
Ryanair are starting Arrecife, Las Palmas and Tenerife this week.
Transavia's last flight has departed, and the next event seems to be the start of services to Tatry-Poprad by Danube Wings in December.

LGS6753. FYI. ELAL had always planned on a mixture of B757 & B737 to operate through LTN from the end of Oct for the winter season. Nothing to do with EasyJet also coming on the route. The summer has been a mixture of B767 200 & 300’s and the B757. Unfortunately no B777 as summer peek had passed by the time the fire coverage level required had been raised.
Understand this first weeks EasyJet loads are very strong. I hear some Easy pax arrived at ELAL dep gate today trying to board their aircraft as the Easy flight was delayed. Could not understand why they were denied boarding as flight going to the same destination!
