LH

What aircraft do LH apply to their BHX flights because at the minute they seem to be very variable?

Lh Ham-bhx

I have booked six seats for myself and workmates on the first day of this new flight, reasonable price compared to Flybe. Just one thing concerns me. There has been no mention of this flight anywhere, no press announcement or news report. I would have thought Lufthansa/BHX would have given the route some publicity like the recent BRS/FRA route recieved?? Can anyone shed any light?

Ryanair

I beleive the inevitable has happened and bhx realises if pax figures are essential and to be honest how else will it accheive 35m pax as forecast, then it needs FR or U2 to have a base at bhx. My query is where on earth are they parking all these frames when FR have 10 based. Gees in the summer it will be mayhem, My guessing knowing FR is the short runway and pax charged for the bus ride over. Well you never know with FR do we!!!!!

Could actually make some sense, Mr Oakworth. Arrange the slots so there's no conflict. Try to move some of the freight to allow for more pax flights at BHX. Save the money of building a second runway at BHX, and the uproar of residents in that vicinity.

It was of course talked about in detail at the Public Enquiry (the Inspector's notes are readily available online), that BHX were interested in buying CVT and still using the 980,000 passenger limit.

Quotation from the fom the BBC Website

"The airline's spokesman Peter Sherrard said the airport had snatched the deal from "under the nose" of another UK airport."

Which airport?

LBA? DSA (slightly less likely, but again a TOM base to take their pax)?

No chance it was Coventry

Well maybe it was MAN - Is this a response by BHX management to EI going to BFS - I wonder ? - Ear muffs needed if it's a success.

This might finally mean those stickless wonders from EXE might have to improve or fail by thwe wayside. Well done Biggles O'Leary now we might get some real LCC ops and proper aircraft instead of Q400 egg-whisks out of BHX

Ouch 12O'c High, that's a bit straight to the point!

It does make me chuckle though, the amount of snobbery in aviation.

Normally though it is my a/c kind (Rotary) which are not regarded as "proper" aircraft, and def my licence kind (ppl) who are not "proper" pilots.

But to describe a Q400 as not proper seems harsh, even by the generally accepted norms. It has had its problems though I suppose!

Back to topic though: Great news for BHX, life just got hard for Baby and flyBE though!
