I think you have a hell of a cheek . The NIMBYs as you call them have always known there is an airport in Farnborough and most people supported its transition from Quasi military to a bix jeyt airfield as a better and more acceptable use of the land than a housing estate or warehouse complex.
The owners TAG committed at the time theywere given permission to buy and operate the airfireld , to a limit on aircraft movements but of course they are now getting greedy and want to increase it. It was a deal done failrly and squarly not long back and TAG now want to bend the rules soa few rich people can travel at more conventient times to the inconvenience of a fair minded and generally pro aviation local polulace. So please, pilot .aviation professional or not ignore this request and let the people of the Farnborough are a decde on the matter .
For my part I live several miles north of EGLF and it doesnt affect me one way or the other but I do not like people being disingenuous

However, TAG are moving the goalposts somewhat, and its not right.
Sorry if that goes against your view, but hey, its a free world last time I looked!

Farnborough
Can anyone update the weekend status at Farnborough Airport. I understand you can currently only operate if you are a based customer? Is this due to change in the near future?

I believe the problem stems from the limit placed on movements at weekends imposed as part of the planning process at FAB, TAG believed this was going to be increased so earlier in the year allowed a lot more aircraft in at weekends in anticipation of getting this increase however this was refused so they only had a very small number of weekend movements left which resulted in the restrictions being placed in that only based aircraft could come/go.
Not sure if the quota finishes on the 31 dec so will have to wait and see what they will do in the new year....hope this helps

I think Blackbushe gets a few at weekends that would otherwise be down the road at EGLF.
Examples here of a recent-ish Sunday movements:

This one caused quite a bit of interest earlier in the year! (also on a Sunday)

Probably old news, but TAG has had the green light for the increase of 2500 to 5000 movements at weekends.
'The operator of Farnborough Airport, TAG Aviation, has won its planning battle to double the number of weekend flights at the airport.
The airport can now accept up to 5,000 take-offs and landings a year – twice the previous allowed total of 2,500.
For the rest of this year, a pro-rata calculation will allow the airport to accept a total of 4,200 aircraft movements at weekends.
The government has agreed with TAG that the economic benefits of allowing an expansion of weekend activities outweighs any environmental impact in the surrounding area.
The government’s finding overrules the decision by the planning authority, Rushmoor Borough Council, who originally blocked the application in June 2006, before contesting the appeal against it by TAG.'
But I think the annual total remains the same, 28000 movements.

TAG Movements
hi
The weekend increase according to the papers would be phased in
Gradually .the total amount does noT Alter but plans are in Hand for
a review of the Airport And extra movement might be considered
so here we go again the usual enquires will surely Follow but i doubt
if anyone would notice or Has noticed any increase in flights .
In Farnborough there is the usual Anti everything brigade which holds
up everything .Granted they may have a few points but the Anti Aviation
Carbon green rubbish has given them a new field to work on .
