3 more E190's approved just waiting for production slot confirmation from EMBRAER.
Expecting Q1-Q2 2014
Interesting. BA has options for 15 E190s, but I've not seen any official announcement on the IAG website.

I guess BA may, in part, betting on peak slots becoming available....

What's the latest on CityJet? I wonder if there's a view that CFE may be in a position to take advantage of their weakness?

Probably best to keep discussion of Cityjet to its own thread but...

- Talks of Air France with preferred bidder Intro Aviation are no longer exclusive. Talks are still going on, but there is no longer the focus of minds to get the deal done. Air France may need to look at other bidders on the list and/or cut the asking price and make a purchase of Cityjet rather more attractive
- As of 15 Oct 2013, Cityjet have yet to release anything for sale beyond 29 March 2014. Cityjet had definitely released a good chunk of S13 seats by 15 Oct 2012. Putting seats on sale signals an intention to compete actively in the market - a weak player failing to put anything on sale almost suggests uncertainty as to whether they want to be a market participant or not. If seats aren't released soon, it'll start to look like a classic sign of self-induced middle management paralysis.

If these E90s are in addition to the current fleet and not replacements for some of the current E70s are we expecting some new routes or extra frequencies on the existing route network ?

no, what i am saying is if, as alluded in a previous post that cityjet are weak and vunerable at the moment, then know would be a good time to compete against them head to head on routes and see them out of LCY .

Well, there aren't really that many desirable (=potentially profitable) Cityjet routes left. They are stopping LCY-EDI so it's a BACF monopoly. BACF is on Amsterdam already. Paris Orly has been cut back. The only real options would be Dublin, Rotterdam, and/or competing with Luxair on Luxembourg.

Like I said ! Dublin !!!!!

Makes sense, BA now have ground ops, Handling and lounges in Dublin so why not.

I can also see BA operating LCY-JER to offer some connectivity ex JER onward to JFK.

Does anyone know how much marketing support BACF receive for flying 3 months per years to/from Angers and possibly also Quimper ?
I've seen a figure quoted on the web for Angers which suggests marketing support of approx 70 euros per passenger per one way flight which sounds extraordinarily high.
I flew the route earlier this year and was surprised at the aircraft not being that full and fares remaining at entry level on a variety of dates until a few days before a flight.

I'm wondering if Cityjet were to disappear, how much cash other French cities / airports might be willing to fork out to have a route to London City.

One E170 being returned. The two other E190's will be an increase in fleet size. Also possibility of one more E190 later in the year.

Other rumour is this will be last Embraer order, as future orders could be fleet replacement to C-Series.

Cityflyer C series

Is that the C Series with 98 seats and a new AOC for Cityflyer or the C series on the Mainline AOC operated by Mainline crews or the C series on the Oddessy AOC operated by Tuped Cityflyer crews. ?

At least Lcy airport know WHEN this will happen ...

LCY – accommodating ‘next generation’ aircraft

The next generation of aircraft, likely to begin using the airport in 2016, are more fuel-efficient and quieter but also larger. They present specific challenges to the airport, both in terms of the increased passenger numbers they will bring and in terms of parking them and manoeuvring them around the runway.

Why wouldn't CityFlyer just replace with the next gen Embraer, must be easier and it has the same engines as the C series so surely the same cost benefits?

The composite materials etc used in the design contribute 15% of the 20% est fuel savings, so it is not the engines that will be making most of the improvements.

Surely the next generation of Embraer will have similar, but perhaps not quite to the level of the C Series

It's also to do with size. Simply put.....The C-Series being wider can seat more passengers than the equivalent length airframe of an E170 & E190.
With space being a limitation at LCY the C-Series gives better revenue potential. So it's more appealing than the re-engined E190.

The 2nd Generation E-Jets will be a re-vamp of the existing E-Jet family rather than an all new a/c design for the time being. Main changes are new engines and taller landing gear.
