I say that based upon friends who have flown with MPL candidates at other airlines who spend more time baby sitting and recovering from poorly executed approaches and landings. Most of those complained that it's like flying single pilot. I feel that this type of flying is best left to trainers rather than line pilots.
I'm sure that you might get some exceptional candidates, but most from what I've been told require rather an unusual amount of supervision.

During a recent positioning flight on BA I had an interesting chat. Seems the new GM will shortly be announced and that the rumour is our GMFO has already planned a move to another airline with a Manchester base.
Gotta love all the rumours going around Mainline about us.

Speaking about rumours....:
Found here: Air France-KLM nears decision on CityJet | ATWOnline
Rgds,
Rumours are bouncing around that BA CityFlyer are looking at the F50 network with the end result seeing VLM Airlines "reborn" as an airline. The former network to ANR/RTM/MAN will be back to VLM service qaulity and level, but will fly with joint BA/VG flight numbers.

BACF Charters
I would be interested to know roughly how these are crewed. I assume crew have to fly up on a Fri then overnight Fri, Sat and Sun in EDI, GLA and ABZ respectively to operate these flights before heading back to LCY on Sun/Mon. Nice trips I would imagine for allowances and a change of scenery from LCY?

Sorry, but I just don't believe BA would buy CityJet. I think they've been quite clear they have no interest, and there's no reason to believe they're bluffing.

ABZ flights could be operated by EDI based crew who are positioned by road to and from EDI or LCY crews on a 3 or 4 day tour.

BA Cityflyer to start LCY to Granada Spain.
The year-round service will launch on July 25.
Flights will operate on a 98-seat Embraer 190 jet four days a week with an
additional flight during the summer.
Flights:
M-W-F
LCY - Grenada 09:10 arrive 12:50
Grenada - LCY 13:35 arrive 15:15
Sunday
LCY - Grenada 15:20 arriving 19:00
Grenada - LCY 19:40 arriving 21:20
During the peak Summer weeks there will also be an
additional Thursday service.
Frequency to Malaga will also increase from 4 to 5 flights per week.
Flights to Barcelona from LCY will be suspended from this time.

I have to say that the new Granada route is surprising - are there enough pax in the LCY area who want to fly to a city that is 120km or so from the coast at Malaga?
It is not as if Granada is a financial centre requiring direct flights from the Square Mile.

Granada is difficult to reach, but makes the suburban middle classes rather orgasmic when they tell the neighbours they are going to Andaloothia for their summer holiday - even better to mention the Alhambra. Perhaps in the same vein as places like Mahon and Quimper ?
Ryanair did after all manage to run 4 routes to northern Europe - although this may well have included some marketing support payments from the Spanish public sector. I think even Monarch ran a Gatwick route.
I can see 2x per week doing well - unsure about 4x per week, even if BACF have a monopoly.

Sorry David disagree Granada is not difficult to reach. Excellent dual carriageway to Malaga, Cordoba, Costa del Sol, etc and hardly any traffic and most of it paid by UK taxpayers including a very nice new road which bypasses Malaga City which in some places is five lanes wide on each carriageway! Also it is a ski destination in the winter - Sierra Nevada which should help. Saying down here - go skiing in the morning and if you are lucky with the weather sit on the beach and sunbathe in the afternoon! Back to aviation matters it does seem rather a strange choice and Monarch did try it for a while with no success but only time will tell but good luck to them.
