Is there any room for increased services to FAO and AGP? They are pulling 6 more rotations out of Cork aircraft this year, 2-Dusseldorf, 2-Extra Paris 1-Extra SNN-AGP, 1-Extra SNN-FAO.

Anyway with all these new routes Cork Passenger numbers will increase massively next year, and all done without Ryanair

I don't think the 4th A320 was used to maximum capacity last summer? At least it always seemed like there was a "spare" hanging around. Maybe increased utilisation?

Also great to see La Rochelle & Nantes back on cityJet as well. They have been missing for a few seasons now.

Edit: They're infact pulling more out the aircraft in Cork. PMI is increasing by 1, BCN by 1, FAO by 1 as well as the other increases, that's 9 extra rotations!

So, weekly, we're looking at

4x Barcelona with Aer Lingus
4x Barcelona with Norwegian
3x Reus with Ryanair
2x Girona with Ryanair

It's going to be a bloodbath.

Hardly a bloodbath. For the last few years the flights have only been for a few months and at times geared solely at the bucket and spade brigade.

It would be great, as a Corkonian living in Barcelona, to have a direct option again and not having to go to DUB or via LHR.

They no longer appear to be flying W rotations to Dublin from PMI and MUC ex Cork base anymore, so that's where they found some of the space.

Also are they quietly dropping Brussels in favour of the new DUS route?

Yes, you're right - it does look (from the Aer Lingus booking engine/timetable) as though Cork-Brussels stops at the end of this month and doesn't return next summer. I have not seen any public mention of this.

It would be great to see if CityJet stepped in and launched a Brussels service if EI pulls out. Fantastic news that CityJet are relaunching routes to Nantes and La Rochelle after some years absence.
Best of all though is flying to London City airport, right into the heart of London. I`ve actually connected through London City myself with FlyBe from Belfast which is much easier than connecting through the larger London airports!

Schedules are not fully confirmed but if BRU is dropped EI are not to blame they gave it season after season and it's not worked for them. I suspect it would of been gone some time back but some meddling was done to secure it.

Additional CDG services which I think may be a Mon/Fri early morning (last time I checked) departures will be of far greater benefit.

I disagree Jamie, the days it operated and the times it operated were poor. Should it have been a Monday and Friday service with either a morning or evening flight I'd imagine it would be still year-round.

It is currently a Mon/Fri service with an afternoon departure. I also think a Sun/Thur or at least one of those days was operated.. The route had long enough to justify it's existence and if it hasn't EI would be stupid to keep wasting valuable resources running it.

It could be a Cityjet opportunity if EI do drop it.

Glad to hear of the increase to 9 services a week to CDG with Aer Lingus. Would be great if they worked with CityJet and made Paris a double daily altogether and increase Cork`s connectivity to Europe`s second biggest hub.

Frankfurt, Europe`s third biggest hub is also an opportunity for CityJet as a destination from Cork.

Kinda surprised there is no mention of Aer Lingus introducing a Madrid service yet to tie in with Iberia there. With 3 airlines flying to Barcelona next year and none to IAG`s second hub, Madrid is a bit unusual.

La Rochelle:

NTE 1110 ORK 1140 ------7

As mentioned elsewhere the LRH and NTE services are weekend services when LCY is closed. The Tuesday LRH service is curious, the timings suggest the Cork comes in from LCY, goes to LRH and back and then could do the afternoon LCY, but the WX 315/315 on Tuesday LCY is still bookable. I suspect it will be cancelled at some point.

It's classed as Barcelona, not BCN. Majority of PAX to REU would be going to Salou on holidays. Many on Girona would be going to the Pyrenees/Andorra. Keep in mind these routes are only peak season, not operating in APRIL/MAY etc.

EI only start BCN in the middle of May, a few weeks before FR. They are obviously after the same knacker tourists.

Knacker tourism? Is that a derogatory remark?

You find how many of them fly Aer Lingus to Barcelona, miles out of the way from Salou/Costa Dorado.

FRA maybe, EI would be there if people in Cork didn't "claim" to want BRU more, bet FRA would of been very successful like MUC and I expect like DUS next year.

Poster on another forum suggest IB Express may be considering it.
