I would love to see a 5th Airbus at Cork, but I can't see it happening this summer. The VS flying out of LHR will require 4 aircraft. 2 A320s were scheduled to leave the fleet and 2 A319s were to join. It is assumed that the departing A320s will now stay. Assuming EI plan to operate a similar S13 schedule from DUB, ORK, SNN and Belfast that still leaves them more or less two aircraft short, before adding any aircraft to Cork.

They'll need to change the schedule further to do it with 4 aircraft.

Aer Lingus (mainline) & Aer Lingus Regional - Summer 2013:

Aer Lingus:
Much the same as last year with Barcelona & Faro seeing increased flights, Brussels with reduced flights and routes to London/Gatwick and Rome being axed.

Aer Lingus Regional:
Against Summer 2012 flights to Birmingham, Edinburgh and Manchester have been reduced. Rennes operates a particularly low-season this year operating in just July and September at once weekly - service operated twice weekly in 2012. The schedule remains much the same however.

>>These CDG times will be great.<<

Not if you have to get to ORK or CDG for the flight from anywhere else!!! The hotels/b&bs will be happy

Equally ORK-NCE in the other sense, arriving ORK 23.45......

Call that an improvement??

Not only is the airport weighed down with debt, but the jobsworths running it are trying to push customers away. Last Sunday night, having arrived back into Cork, i was waiting outside for my lift. And waiting. I didn't know at the time but the Airport police jobsworths were deflecting all traffic away from the drop off area outside the terminal, and another one forcing cars into the Multistorey carpark. Their excuse being that they couldn't cope with all the cars !!!

What did they do in 2007 ???? It's an absolute joke, and apparently this is a regular occurrence on a Sunday evening.

What made it worse, is that even though I was just being picked up, we were forced to pay parking fees because the scammers in the CAA have taken away the 0-15 minute free drop off/collect in the Multistorey.

I was never for a sell off of crucial infrastructure but the shower allegedly running the airport are so incompetent, I'm being won over to the notion of the airport being sold off.

Maybe you didn't, but the 'trick' many people use is to drive up to the terminal and then use the mobile to phone in to the mate in the terminal..... The airport police look out for single occupant cars and divert them. Sort of logical, don't you think? There would never be enough room in the drop off for that sort of behaviour.

Admittedly stopping the free time is stupid, but some bean counters cannot be stopped from their nonsense.

Indicates that at some times the airport is busy

Sunday nights are particularly busy at the moment but it won't be long quietening down if Wizzair continue to pull routes.

Wizzair

I still don't understand why Wizzair have never considered starting routes to the likes of Prague, Budapest and Bucharest....

Yes I had called my relation who headed up to the airport then. She was stuck in the traffic as each person obviously wound down the window to ask the jobsworth what the problem was. Meanwhile the road outside the terminal was virtually empty !!! It obviously didn't occur to the jobsworth at the entrance to the pickup/dropoff area to divert traffic when the area was FULL.

They diverted ALL cars, not just single occupant cars.

There weren't any airport police outside the terminal itself to advise people (including elderly people) what they were up to. It's bad enough that the DAA's incompetence is visited on us, without self-inflicted wounds. Is it because there are so many non nationals going through for flights, at this time, I wonder ?

ORK - CDG timings.

Apropos, if there was ever to be 2x daily I'd be delired, but I dont like asphyxia so I'm not holding my breath.

I note the sector on Monday last was cancelled, all the other IRL-Fr flights operated, not enough pax for the ORK departure, or saving money, or picked off by Aeroports de Paris as too little to be bothered about??

Aer Lingus having problems securing an early morning slot. So expect times to return to what they were last year.
