I'm wondering how would FR make ORK-CRL work when Are Lingus failed with ORK-BRU.
Late evening Friday + Sunday.
I say CRL, and not BRU, because Ryanair are avoiding non-Schengen expansion in BRU. It means being forced to use an air bridge. They made an exception for BRU-Dublin, because they wanted to compete directly with Aer Lingus. But they would be less likely to do this for ORK.
I also say CRL because it may be more likely to qualify for the route support scheme than BRU, since BRU operated recently from ORK.
Moreover, Ryanair need to contractually maintain certain passenger levels at CRL (as is clear from their ongoing expansion there: CPH + TLS +++).
Additionally slots are easier to obtain in CRL than in BRU.

Does ORK need LTN, WX have a lot lf seats to fill
MAD commences in June, so why would you want FR, give IB a chance.
I agree Rome and Cork are trying to get a link, cannot see EI going back so FR is probable.
EI had a evening flight to BRU (?), yield always appeared low even close in however the exact same could be said for DUB with both FR/EI having low fares, I suspect FR were not expecting such a responce from EI as they have however EI have a high number of Flexi fare passengers.
Interesting what BRU are doing with FR is it genuine requirement for air bridge or just BRU make life difficult for them?

Evening Echo ? Ryanair: Lower charges and we?ll boost Cork
Last time around Ryanair stated the route possibilities from Cork as being: Brussels (even when Aer Lingus were on the route), Italy, Germany and Scandinavia.
The Iberia Madrid service is summer only, so please forgive this being on my wishlist. Luton is more a prediction than a wish. I predict Ryanair want to drive Cityjet out of Cork, but I certainly do not wish it.

I do not buy FR saying Scandinavia, they have reduced their offering ex DUB and the market could contract more by end of year. Italy yes Rome as said but FR have scrapped Pisa interesting to note that EI scrapped ORK-BRU when FR added DUB-BRU or soon afterwords and FR scrapped Pisa when EI added DUB-Pisa. Besides SXF I really can't see anything in Germany for them.
Brussels, Rome, return of longer Milan season and Budapest would be top priorities if I was ORK management.

There's a lot of places could work with a Friday and Sunday evening flight. Most city break destinations in Europe.
The problem is the aircraft needs to be used throughout the week.

Flew on WX310 this morning to LCY. Load factor was well over 80%, three weeks ago when I was on that flight it was 40%. Are things picking up on this route now? Any other experiences over the past few days? I also see they are now hiring Cork based crew albeit on fixed term contracts.

I'm gonna state the obvious and say that, no flights don't magically double their loads in 3 weeks, one flight is not representative of a whole service and fixed crew is good but again doesn't affect the flights. May guarantee the service continues though.

Anecdoctal evidence from my eyes - loads ARE increasing. In the early days, it wasn't unusual to see c25 pax. Last 2/3 trips I've done, it's easily been 50 or more almost up to a full house on some days. I know it's about yield not numbers but, in the most basic terms, it can only a good thing to seen patronage increasing, repeat custom and word of mouth spreading that this is a really decent option for LON-ORK if you don't mind paying a little extra. LCY arrivals are beyond fabulous even with hold bags. I'm usually at Waterloo within 30 mins of touchdown, DLR and Jub Line co-operating. Also interesting to note that during recent inclement weather when FR and EI couldn't get in or out, the RJ85 just switched to the 07/25 runway. Was witness to a number of EI/FR pax desperately trying to get on WX.

Cork winter sun announcement.
Both Aer Lingus and Ryanair are massively expanding their winter sun schedules for ORK.
Aer Lingus
AGP - 2pw-4pw (Some dates only, 3pw on other dates and sometimes 2pw)
LPA - 1pw (New)
TFS - 2pw - 1pw
ACE 3pw-4pw
Ryanair
AGP - 2pw (New)
LPA - 1pw (New)
TFS - 1pw (New)
So up 7 extra weekly sun flights this winter. Good news for the airport.
