SOVIX and ORTOM SIDs are out of use for a few days according to a NOTAM so they are all being radar vectored to their initial waypoint, not sure why there out of use maybe they're being updated. Nice catch though!

I was in work yesterday and could see a couple of flights which turned left over B/hassig, around 2-3 in the afternoon, is there a French atc dispute on today, that might have delayed the Malaga flight.

EI-DVN brought to Shannon from Dublin yesterday to continue SNN/AGP/ORK rotations and EI-DEE returned to Dublin, though EI-DEE is back on duty this morning on DUB-LIN.

EI-DPK FR9948 FAO-ORK currently circling out over Kinsale? Any issues with landing system or runway?

This might be nothing but today I saw a car with Turkish Airline logo's heading up Airport Hill with 3 business types in it. It was'nt a taxi or hackney so I'm just wondering could Turkish Airlines be in discussion with Cork Airport about a new route? Be great if it was.

FR dropping ORK-VNO this Winter, replacing it with SNN-KUN. Absolutely made it clear that FR entering into competition with W6 would see W6 withdraw and the route dropped. What a horrible state of affairs.

Sad times indeed. I would be surprised if FR keep the 2 based a/c in Cork.

If SNN-MAN with EI can't maintain their 18 weekly flights for winter, there could be an opportunity for ORK to get a third aircraft based from them as one of the SNN based a/c already operates a daily W service from ORK in winter.

Yep think you are spot on. Sure there is nothing for the second aircraft to do this winter now really?

Hopefully it will work out like that. What annoys me is this isn't FR growing at SNN it's them making a point to Cork by axing profitable routes, it's so hard to understand because Cork hands down attracts more inbound potential than NOC/SNN put together.

Its a game O'Leary is playing with Gov/DAA. However we shall see in a years time what he'll do with SNN. Remember the last time they got into "bed" with him.

Yes, Aer Lingus, I remember the ruffled bed sheets after that episode !
Shannon ran crying to the Government, in a scene that recalled a point made by a senior Irish Aviator, now retired from active commercial flying, but who is ensconced in the very highest levels of the IAA,

"Shannon sucks the hind tit yet again".

This quote is many years old, but, when it comes to Shannon, plus ca change.....

Last winter the FR service was particularly popular to KRK and was full all year round. WAW/WMI was popular too. Shame to see these destinations missing this winter. Vilnius gone aswell too this year. Is there anything the airport authority could have done to save these? There must have been something?

Ryanair since Oct 2013, have been trying to secure growth at Cork. Management at Cork continuously denied FR's request for the airport to basically subsidise them over EI which is a totally unfair and unlevel playing field, SNN was happy to do that. At FR's meetings routes to ACE, BGY, CCF, GDN, KRK, LGW, LPL, STN, WMI, WRO, VNO and even PSA we were told we're excellent "gainers" for them and they believed there was seriously more inbound potential to destinations similar to those above for Cork, they were happy with there other portfolio of Cork routes. Acording to a CSO survey FR's routes to KRK, STN and PSA had the highest monthly-monthly gains. FR even declared ORK was there highest yielding airport outside Dublin, SNN especially to LPL was losing them money per passenger. What asstounds me is the recent SNN/FR deal was so wrong and ridiculous that it still wasn't enough to save LPL and now there chasing EIR's stable growth there. Good luck to SNN, this isint growth it's SNN being the token idiot again, seemingly learning nothing - so give it a few years when they'll be back down the bottom with politicians looking to save a continual political hotpot.

Cork has so much potential it's actually quite sad when you see the state it's in now.
