LJL Airport spokesman Robin Tudor said ...
Makes you wonder if Mr Tudor does actually work at the airport!
"Half of our annual 500 million passengers travel with Easyjet, who are not served by Servisair, so those passengers would never have been affected anyway."

There has been no noticable difference to passengers at all during the strike due to Serviceair bringing staff in to help out. More strikes are planned in the future according to the union.

So, OTP has been increased when there is an ongoing strike! How long do they plan to walk around the terminal not doing anything on reduced pay? Seems like it is only affecting the strikers themselves now, maybe time to admit defeat?

Where do you get your figures from the last otp was before the strikes not during.the airport are now admitting delays with flights even though the scabs working there are outnumbering the usual staff by over 2 to 1

I don't get to go behind the scenes at airports very often, but LPL is one place where I have had such a privilege, although it must have been back around 2004. So I can confirm that Mr Tudor is indeed not just a very real person, but a very passionate one at that.
Journos on the other hand can easily get figures wrong. Now if I had a pound for every time I read about a million pound project when they meant billion. In our business, this is all too easy - after all, there are plenty of small terminals around the world which have been built for, say £4m. IIRC, the Liverpool current terminal as extended was in that ball park, maybe closer to 10? Yet LHR T5 was a cool £4 BILLION, and Thames Island, who knows, maybe a factor of 10 again.
Numerical competence is an essential part of a pilot's routine, especially when it comes to fuel loading (even in Gimli, they got the measurements wrong, but they weren't out by a factor of 10 / 100 / 1000...). The same can't be said in today's media world.

poor relations with Peel/VAS
The interesting thing with running an airport is that there are lots of interested parties, all with their own agenda and the trick is to reach an acceptable and workable compromise to keep things going. Sounds a bit like the EU

But its amazing what 23 hours does (exactly the same page):
This is taken off the KLM face book page:
From March 25, 2012, KLM will discontinue its service to Liverpool. Unfortunately this route has not been profitable, and given the current economic situation we have decided to stop the operation
currently we do not have any plans ending our service to Liverpool. You would be able to check our timetable online here: Timetable Results - KLM.com, for more information about our flights.

Curious that KLM's booking engine is still showing Liverpool departures and arrivals from April through May 2012.
Strange thing if they are indeed withdrawing service at the end of March!
