My previous post was a new 'aircraft' for Manchester whether this be a new A321 or another leased A320.

I wonder if we could see any expansion of regional TCX longhaul city routes for next year. I think GLA-JFK or BOS would do well say 3x week high summer to compliment Orlando and LAS. Even MIA at a push. This would follow the success of the MAN routes.

I think they are focusing on Manchester for the bulk of long haul, with GLA/STN/LGW and BFS primarily aimed at Thomas Cook packages.

Even if some of the 'niche' routes make their way to other bases, MIA is probably the least likely. Fares from MAN are often quite soft, and it's one of the only MAN long haul routes not seeing some form of increase next year.

So would I but not with TCX. Not that I have anything against them, quite the opposite, but STN really does need a regular (ie daily, year round) full-service carrier to JFK/EWR to operate at its full potential.

I'm sure TCX will continue to grow long-haul at STN, judging by their increases next summer and how well they've sold this year.

It does seem that MAN is where their long-haul ambitions are focused but who knows? It's another one of those cases of wait and see I think.

I've been a casual observer of this forum for some time scared to post because I am just an observer. If I've overstepped the mark with this post I'm sure admin can delete the post.
I went long haul with TCX five years ago and said never again would I travel in the 3-3-3 set up on the A330. I was persuaded to book them again this year for my trip to Orlando due to the new product on offer and the 2-4-2 set up.
My only worry is they put us in the Scandinavia version of the plane as I'm not sure if that aircraft has had the same internal upgrade. Does anyone have any info or worked one of these flights? If I do turn up and it still 3-3-3 then I'm sure I will just have to grin and put up with another uncomfortable 8 hours.

Once again I know this doesn't fit in with what this forum is for but I hoped a staff member may have been able to let me know,

Hi folks
Just to let you know tcx is dropping the popular Glasgow-Bodrum in turkey flight
Altho the pax numbers are up on charter and hard to book a seat as its so popular

The caa stats show its up by just under 1,000 more charter seats sold this year compared to last on this route also tcx are now the slole opperator with August average of 230/233 on 95%Of the flights

Anyone know why its going as its the only uk airport without a thomas cook flight on this route in 2016?

kind regards
Alasdair

Alasdair - I think you will find that TCX are not the sole operator from Glasgow to Bodrum. Jet2 fly the route too, with very high load factors so perhaps that has had some bearing on the decision.

whats with the obsession with Bodrum. There will be lots of capacity elsewhere and the timetables are no more finalised than at the last enquiry.

Where can you actually go from Glasgow ? No Santorini , Skiathos , Mytilene , Sharm , Hurghada , Izmir just to name some widely served by bases of a similar size

Hi all

Liam ncl -we are seeing less routes all the time

Jet2 do not opperate to the accomodation as its tc only also we are regular tc customers on the route
And are more expencive

Tc are the sole charter airline now as thomson airways dropped the route on the 20th July 15
Also the obsession is this is a popular route as per caa stats and availabilitys are low
May and june stats for charter are up and ls was down in may and june
Jet 2 have opperated now for 3 seasons inc this season
But so expencive
Tc have an average of 230 per flight in may and june and july so far
LOOKS like aug is the same and few flights in sept have 7 seats left

How many A321s will be based there next year ?

DLM is showing down from x6 weekly to x5 weekly next year from GLA aswell as LPA showing as dropped .

Surely this isnt a finished timetable

LPA dropped from GLA?

Apparently BJV is being cut from GLA.

I think GLA is 3x A321 and 1x A330 for 2016, however...

The A330 and 1x A321 move down from GLA to STN for the English school holidays (mid/late July-end of August) so therefore some reductions at GLA during that period. LPA resumes from September.

Yes looks like BJV has been dropped, but routes are dropped from time to time... some more surprising than others.

Just to help you in your grammar it's actually spelt EXPENSIVE not EXPENCIVE.

Just to help you with your spelling, it's actually grammar, not grammer.

Not that any of this has anything to do with Thomas Cook

TFS, LPA, ACE, FUE, PMI, MAH, IBZ, REU, KGS, RHO, HER, MLA, NBE, ZTH, LCA, DLM, AYT, BJV.

Plus MCO, LAS, CUN, CCC, HOG, VRA, BGI and more to come.

BJV and KGS dropped in 2016, and obviously NBE until further notice.

What similar sized base were you referring to? BHX?
