Helvetic Airlines

I flew from Manchester to Zurich early morning on Helvetic about three years ago who flew this flight on behalf of Swiss. Nice to go on an old Fokker 100 which I had not been on since Air Uk days! I am due to fly to Zurich again in August and see that Helvetic do still operate this flight occasionally. Is there any way of finding out who will operate the flight on any particular day and with what equipment? A friend I am going with is a bit concerned at flying on, what he regards as the oldest airliner still operating in Europe! I have not told him there is a good chance that if it is Helvetic it will be a bus job to the terminal from their stand once we have arrived. Any other general comments or information on Helvetic welcomed. I remember an interesting, comfortable and enjoyable flight on them including weaving between clouds at Zurich and the Captain giving out chocolates when we got off.

Go to the seat reservation section for your flight.
Swiss deploy a variety of aircraft on the Manchester-Zurich route including brand new Bombarder Cs100 , A320 A319 plus Helvetic F100 and Embraer 190s.

They even use the A321 and on occasion the BAE RJ100

Ah, so that's where OUR chocolates went to!

Many years ago the ATC unit I worked for often co-ordinated a handy little short-cut for them. As a gesture of appreciation the airline often sent us boxes of chocolate. The short-cut became known as the "chocolate route" and they were cleared as such!

Those were the days. Big no no these days I suspect.

Thanks for the replies and information. Unfortunately, I am booked on the flight as part of an Inghams holiday package and therefore cannot get to the seat booking stage! Looks like it is going to be a surprise! However, the basic Swiss booking page shows a different aircraft and operator almost weekly! Currently, it is Helvetic but definitely two weeks ago it was a Swiss Airbus 320!
