They were thinking about XL last year..around the same time as the GB plan. Can't see a sudden change of heart taking place.

I would have thought the only worth EZY would want from XLA would be the slots at LGW & MAN. The rest of it would be shut down. If XLA have run out of money, or close to it, as rumours are suggesting, then this could be worth it for them. It is hard enough to position aircraft into LGW to cover sick aircraft so they have to base spares which costs money.

According to BBC, Easyjet will cut 60 posts at Luton.
The airline Easyjet has announced it is to shed up to 60 jobs.

The management and administration posts which are to be cut are all based at the company's headquarters at Luton Airport in Bedfordshire.

The firm said the airline industry was facing tough times caused by the high price of fuel.

A spokesman for the lower-cost airline insisted the company was still profitable but had to make cutbacks in order to remain competitive.

Flights to Arracife (Tenerife)

Just read this on EZY website:
easyJet.com - easyJet adds October flights to Las Palmas, Dalaman and Arracife

Since when is Arracife (I presume it means Arrecife) is in Tenerife? Last I saw, it was in Lanzarote!

As reported,
EasyJet could add new Italian routes at short notice in the event of the total collapse of Alitalia -- although it would expect to be awarded airport slots in return.
We learn that it could commit around ten aircraft on routes such as Milan-Rome, Milan-Naples and Milan-Palermo. It would not wish, however, to buy Alitalia's vacant slots in the event of its collapse, "but would expect to be awarded them by the Italian government in return for a swift resumption of service".

Try Reuters: extract follows:-

A spokesman for the low-cost carrier told Reuters on Tuesday that it could commit around ten aircraft on routes such as Milan-Rome, Milan-Naples and Milan-Palermo.

"EasyJet is prepared, at very short notice, to move into routes the Italian government cares about most ... We could commit in the region of ten aircraft," the spokesman said.
