.

well what can i say! except im absolutly gutted and still in shock! Been there a long time and it feels its the passing of a loved one - even tho we knew it was coming, still a shock.
I am bit angry though - probably my emotions are running high - so i wont post what i want to post - only because its not professional.

What i would like to say is though. THANK YOU to all those i have worked with over the past 5 years either from EMX or flight support.

We have had so much good memories to take away with us and im sure i shall remember to my last breath. But as they say things happen for a reason, and as one chapter closes another opens.

Every single one of you was a true pro - and im gonna miss working with ALL of you. We had a great little family atmosphere going that im gonna really miss!

Just hope the IOM govt will put a stop to the open skies policy and give if any some protection to manx2 who are a decent little outfit [ just like how we used to be in the 'old' days!]

All i can say is now. Thanks to everyone for their support it is appeciated and to finsih off .......

Thank you for choosing to fly with us over the past 5 years, its been a pleasure and we WOULD have liked to have been service to you again, thank you and good evening.
In manx Gaelic Gura mie eu son a my dai Euromanx. Oie Vie.....................

Sympathy for the groundstaff, yes.

Sympathy for the support staff, yes.

Sympathy for the pilots? Er, don't think so...now clear off home to whichever flag of convenience country you came from and leave the local flying jobs for local people. Thank you.

Just felt the need to post a message to say good luck to all the Euromanx staff. Had the honor of working closely with a number of you from when Euromanx started in 2002 to the close of business this week. Airline and staff will be missed! Good Luck!

Err, Dontdoit, a bit harsh!! . Three of the EMX Captains are ex Manx Airlines and have homes and families here. Others have made this Island their home too.

There are not enough 'local' Commercial Pilots here on the Isle of Man to supply one airline let alone two or three. The industry is reliant on people who are prepared to move here.

"Interesting report on local TV, apparently Flybe were approached some time ago with a take-over request & have been putting money into EMX until recently."

Why on earth would FlyBE do this. The whole purpose of flooding the MAN and LPL markets with cheap seats was to drive EMX out. Granted they might not have intended it to end like this, more likely they wanted an orderly surrender, but giving them financial support sounds very unlikely.

Regarding any deal with Govt over APD and fees, it suggests that there was a plan in place for exactly this scenario, involving the Govt and the other airlines. If that is the case, it makes it totally unforgivable that the Dash 8 was allowed to be smuggled away outside EMX's usual operating hours.

I'd imagine that a maverick MHK who has been giving the AD a hard time over the runway, could well be asking some tricky questions over this issue, before too long............

dontdoit......shut up & get your facts right!

many of the pilots were either manx or english, many ex JE/BRAL.

Just hope this has been a wake up call for the govt - word on the street Tynwald question time is going to make very interesting listening on tuesday, as many MHK'S dubbing it a national emergency.

Good luck to all my now ex collegues - looking forward to the 'wake' tomorrow night for the last get together.

can anyone clarify that is it true flybe have put up the prices?

like euromanxdude has said thanks to all for your support, its appeciated!

Much love

Mona

I saw Mike Rutter make the comments re financial support on Border news . What he said was that EMX contacted Flybe offering them the business. Flybe supported EMX financially whilst they conducted an audit of the EMX business - it was that fragile. This audit highlighted that the EMX business was in dire trouble. Flybe backed away along with their money. EMX looked for further suitors but were unable to source anything.

Some might think that the only reason Euromanx; Manx2 and all the rest of the tiddlers ever got a look in was because of the Castletown electricians policy on open skies helping BA to scupper Manx Airlines as was.

G-MONA : re Flybe prices put a few random dates in to Man for June, July, Aug and plenty of £0.00 fares available. In truth if they just put the fare up £5.00 and altered the mix a bit they could increase their yield a lot without peeing of the public.

I hope the MHK's will have some searching questions regarding this affair to the minister and his sidekick AR, the ever so modest AD.

Anyone able to say how long the flightplan etc of HBB would have had to have been filed with the airport? as surely even a demented baboon could have guessed why it was leaving so early.

I did check the taxes and the total fare paid varied between £38 and £43, pretty good and it also varied before EMX left us.

Baboon?

Crab - Who might you be alluding to in respect of your demented baboon comment? Who do you think has access to flight plan data? Do you for instance expect the AD/Minister to be at work at 0600 to check every day's flight plans??
Maybe Flight support ought to have given the Chief Minister a ring to prevent this national disaster!

I think people should look at the wider picture as well. Now that Euro Manx has gone it will most definately have an impact on Flight Support, in the IOM and LPL and the IOM Airport; will they need the summer baggage handlers?

Atprider- it's not up to FS to go running to Government, they don't own the Airlines, just handle them.

Good luck to all the guys and gals at EMX; our paths will no doubt meet again in the future, this industry is too small!
