J41 MAJB has been repainted into coastguard red and white and will be operated by T3 on behalf of bristows on behalf of HM coastguard for a trial period

Embraer 170 operating Stansted-Munich returns recently, is this a new corporate contract they've got, is this a resurrection of the old Ford flights that used to operate from SEN?

Eastern should look into a possible merger with BMI Regional creating a larger combined airline and grow the EMB170 fleet replacing both airlines EMB135/145 and creating a more wider network covering key business routes from selected UK airports such as Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds/Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle, Southampton.

I have been thinking for a while that they are in need of a change to their business model, or at least to adapt it to reach out to wider audiences - both in scheduled and charter. This announcement proves it. Or perhaps it is the start of it...
It is perfectly acceptable to be a smaller airline serving niche routes. However, with such a competitive market surrounding them they have barely changed in recent years nor have they pushed themselves enough to seek additional oppprtunities.
The newer and larger aircraft added over the past few years could have been utilised so much better. The BA Cityflyer contract has however seemingly been one of the better opportunities of recent times.

BMI Regional are part of the Loganair group but longer term if Eastern also became part of the group we could see a bigger more progressive airline as in BMI Regional competing on key business routes from regional UK airports that are not currently served by Flybe.

What value wild Eastern bring to the party by being acquired by or merged with Bmi reg/ Loganair? Very limited operation, and already Loganair have props of a similar size and bmi small jets. Aside from an obvious lack of anything new or different it signs to me like bmi reg/ Loganair would be be taking on what according to these pages sounds like a very negative culture...

If a merger were to happen, bmir / Loganair could easily get rid of people they felt were not fitting into the larger corporate culture. The question though is how Eastern's brand, fleet and network would complement the existing bmir / Loganair operation - I personally don't know how to answer this question - anyone want to comment ?
In addition Loganair have traditionally been cautious towards corporate growth and risk. Eastern would be a lot to digest - do they have the appetite for this ?

There wasn't a perceivable reduction in flights and pax numbers to and from Sumburgh & Scatsta out of Aberdeen in 2016, in fact they seemed to get busier and more frequent. However, flights into Aberdeen on the feeder routes did quieten down considerably.
One thing that didn't help of course was that pax and crews were continually messed around to an unbelievable degree, so much so that both groups abandoned the airline in droves.
