Rebak:

Southampton
Time to wave bye bye to Southampton base. Again.
Is this fact or simply speculation due to BRU route terminating in a couple of weeks.

So anyone know what the plans are for Flight Deck recruitment? nothing is said on there website but after stalking a few friends on Facebook it seems a Saab TR course is on at the moment

What are Easterns views on people working as cabin crew, flight ops with them, before applying to be flight crew?

PM's are welcome

Are any 145 pilots being recruited from outside of the company or are they 'promoted' from within?

onyxcrowle, I have relisted your post below, can you please translate it. You talk about childish rants. This looks like a 5 year old wrote it.....................

"Breaking from the unprofessional bile and I pleasant childish immature name calling cane egret back on topic as this is about routes , we potential business don't need to hear what a dick mr whatever is from so called seasoned aircrews makes for potential for poor crm of you have a serious public infighting campaign going it looks childish and unbecoming what might expect in a civil discussion your thread has degenerated into personal unpleasant bile n I think as a forum we would ask you to stop it the bitter bile laded rants for your crew rooms not on open forums read by all . It doesn't inspire confidence in a company and crew this highly stung. If there was a serious accident god forbid you'd better forget about the dick you hate , Lear to act like professional men an women and either put up shut up, up sticks and walk away least ( ands it's happened before ) shoddy crm and internal issues have killed pax crews and ultimately airlines only this time you might end up closin
g. Whole airport ( HUY) SO please cut the crap lets be civil ,, grow up a lot and try start. Again with meaning full posts about the airline it's potential future and think and be positive but fgs stop this endless degrading soap opera that your thread has become, a I for one wouldn't well safe getting on a plane where manage and staff can't seem to handle basic crm and post personal names attacks here , we'll stop it now !!!!!!!! Enough !!! ADMIN please from now on wind them in a bit .
We need route news interesting stories flight. Info put not pages bile and internal bickering enough is enough"

Will the new BMI regional routes launched to Aberdeen affect Eastern?

My appologies, I am not too well at the moment and had taken a strong tablet to hjelp me sleep, I started to write it and obviously ended up writing drivel, I just about recall deleting the post before I dropped off.

T3 v BM

They only compete of course on ABZ - NWI/BRS. I believe they both do pretty well on NWI with the high yields.

With BRS there is no logical reason to choose Eastern over BMR what with the faster more comfortable aircraft, the fact it's non stop and takes an hour less than Eastern. If Eastern want to compete they'll need at the very least a non stop service.

The Embraer is certainly a step up from the Jetstream, but in terms comfort, there's not much to choose between a 145 and a Saab, and whilst the 145 goes a bit higher, and flies a but faster above FL100, the difference isn't that great.

Time will tell whether bmir can attract enough pax at the prices they are charging to make the route sustainable long term with the frequency they have introduced.

Why would Eastern need to go head to head on a direct route?

The point people are making is the bmir flight flies directly between brs and abz whereas Eastern are going via lba. It is this stopping in lba which adds the extra time tothe Eastern flight. Not the type or speed of the aircraft used.

My experience would tend to point to Eastern NEVER going head-to-head with ANYONE. Whenever another airline appears on the scene, Eastern legs it. I don't know if this is because Eastern relies on people not having an alternative to their offering...

A very similar attitude that is also taken with regards to how they treat their crew. Sadly for the knuckle-draggers who take so much delight in the abuse of good people, I feel that change is just around the corner...

Onyxcrowle, I hope your not crew popping strong pills like that before you go flying

I think the Saab is a better cabin than the embraer and like someon else said the time difference is not going to be that much. I'd rather fly in the Saab

It is maybe the noise on the J41 flight deck - you need REALLY strong ones to help you doze off...

I think the Jetstream is noisier inside the cabin than outside, but only just

How economic are the Jetstreams to run? Do they go tech very often with their age or are they pretty good with reliability and fuel burns?

Just curious as I dont know a lot about them and whether Eastern will replacement in the future ...
