Never mind, RL is now expanding into Airport ownership.
As soon as the ILS work is complete at HUY, he is buying a substancial share of the airport............
How long before we see the demise of another local airport?

...just one Profile
Hello. For the record I have one User Profile. I’m not Rebakor BufordTJusticeor anyone else. The reason that some words appear joined is that in the main Itype using ‘Word’ for typing and then I’m cutting and pasting into Pprune.
It’s interesting that people want to speculate about who’swho on here but don’t want to join into the debate about how to make Eastern abetter place to work. My assumption is that people have been so used to ‘shuttingup and carrying on’ that they now think this is the way to go.
Some amazing things have happened in the Middle Eastrecently with people finally having enough of petty Tyrants have brought themdown. Sure different scale but as stated before RL etc only has as much power overyou as you want to give him.
Issues such as ‘who’s who’ and the purchase of HumbersideAirport keep us off target. RL will buy a share in HUY Airport because it will,he anticipates, make him even more money, but it’s not going to help our Ts andPs one jot!

Truthbox, I very much doubt you will get any kind of support at eastern because 90% of its employees don't give a f**k about the company anyhow and are just marking time until they can get out, and that also includes many of the middle management it seems!
On a brighter note it seems the CP is definitely leaving which is unfortunate for those who work at wherever he decides to infest next unless he is retiring. So who is the new mug taking over as chief whipping boy / girl?

New CP
Hello Wetdream. Yes you’re probably right; I won’t get thatmuch support. It’s perhaps not because people don’t give a toss, it’s moreabout people feeling resigned to the status quo. Most folk I spend my days withcertainly work hard and do an excellent job.
I’m hoping the new CP won’t follow down the same path as thelast ****. If you think about it SJ painted himself into a tight corner. Universallyhated inside the Company and on the outside despised by Pilots who had moved ontonew Employers. Within Britain he never had a hope of getting employed in aPilots position. He became too widely known for the self-righteous little Prickthat he is.
One or two Guys have suggested that he cooked up a schemewith Vistajet. He’d supply the Pilots and then after a period he himself wouldmove across. Perhaps he saw this as his only way out. Once RL twigged as towhat was going on it was all over for SJ. He had already been put on noticeconcerning his failure to Bond some of his RAF chums that walked into Saab Jobsand then had left at short notice. Anyway that’s just rumour.
Cheers

Such a shame that eastern has turned out this way.
When I flew at Eastern in 2003 to 2007 it seemed ok, things started getting worse bit by bit. However, I don't think big dickie knows half what actually goes on down on the shop floor, it was always well hidden from him.
Yep SJ, that guy certainly knows how to pull off a 5 foot 5 penis impersonation, it's the biggest I've ever seen. Looks fabulous with a hat and gold tie on hahaha.
If he is going to vista jet, do u think he would be able to reach the pedals of a Learjet?
Is Debbie smith still there or she left?

Well 2007 to 2012 = 5 years. So what sort of a manager does that make RL, if he has spent 5ish years not knowing what is going on? I suspect it is that he couldn't care less, so long as the money rolls in.
His (senior) partner Mr Huxford has apparently been doing the rounds and by all accounts met with a tumbleweed-blowing silence from the crews in the ABZ crew room when he went in to say hello.
Debbie Smith has gone to a well-known Yorkshire airline. Good luck to her.

Unfortunately RL is shielded from the amount of money that is wasted by certain departments. Got a few examples over the last week that cost him thousands.
He is also shielded from the good stuff that the line flight crew and engineers do to sort out HUY's mistakes.
He also has no idea how professional his flight crew/engineer employees are because every mistake is blamed on someone who works outside of HUY HO. But probably caused by them.
Dont get me wrong. Some people in HUY are great. Minority though.
Thought things might be changing. But there is no will or imagination to make it happen. And that is confusing as the most successful companies in the world have those two qualities as their foundation core values.

Eastern Group, have today bought the Manchester Airports Groups majority shareholding (82.7%) in Humberside Airport for £2.3m.
MAG originally paid £10m for the airport and have invested a further £7 m since.

I feel for you EGHQ
I dont work in aviation, but i was a huge supporter of SZ and it was a really sad day for the country when Eastern decided to shut down Air Southwest.
I hope you have found work since finishing with SZ ?
Devon, Cornwall, NQY and PLH all miss Air Southwest and the DH8-300

"a really sad for the country when Eastern decided to shutdown Air Southwest"
Oh please, give me strength
People aren't in aviation business for fun, they're there to make money and if a business isn't making money then it gets shutdown or it goes bankrupt eventually -a fairly simple business theory, which seems lost on quite a few people on here!
I never like to see jobs lost, but SZ was screwed long before Eastern got their hands on it, in fact quite a number of employees are still employed by Eastern today which speaks for itself really.
Sorry to piss on your nostalgic, teary eyed memories but a reality check was required to keep some balance.

Cs,
Of course you are allowed to voice your own opinion, as am I, however, I'm struggling to understand why it was such a sad day for the UK when SZ got shut down, although I'm intrigued to learn more...........
Swearing?! Were you reading the right post?

P**s perhaps ?
Clearly you arent from Cornwall or Plymouth ! Or someone that used SZ to travel between the now unserved routes and PLH/NQY
If you were you would consider the loss of SZ to be a huge loss, why not find the Plymouth thread and see what people think of Eastern on that thread ?
