Hi to all,

I am looking for the name of the Chief Pilot of Eastern Airways. I am writing to the company to ask if I can spend a few days doing voluntary work for them this summer, as I intend to go into Commercial Aviation (as a pilot) in the future. I feel it would be better if the letter were addressed to the Chief Pilot personally.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yours,
Cpt. Sunshine

Steve Jenkins it is then. Thanks to Hotel Uniform Yankee and niknak for helping me out. I'll drop an email and I'm away for the week, so I'll follow it up with a letter when I get back if I get no reply.

Thank You to both posters for the help and contact details. I'll keep the thread updated with any progress.

Rumour that another embraer 135 is now on its way.

Be careful what you volunteer for, a one way ticket to Wick normally comes into the deal.

They need to find crews for the ones they have got first. Why E135's ?
The E145 is much more useful for a little extra fuel burn.

I think the 135 is so unloved that leasing companies are giving them away. Eastern seem to have found a niche for it in charter market......

Eastern seem to be cancelling an awful lot of flights to and from EMA to ABZ at the moment, it seems to be 1 of the 3 a day are being cancelled... Low pax? Im not suprised if it is, as you can fly from BHX for 1/4 the price!

Taking over?

Will Eastern make a buyout of the people from Plymouth? Would the routes compliment each other and if they did make the purchase could they get rid of the Dash's?

Just guessing but it could be something to do with holidays and less business travel. Some airlines do this but it is planned and built into the timetable. Eastern have probably done this in the booking engine but not bothered for the timetable.

RE. EMA Flights.

During summer it is perfectly normal for airlines to reduce certain routes. I believe this is what is happening with the EMA flights. Its continually a bread and butter route for T3 as is NCL-BHX. And no you cant fly from BHX for a 1/4 of the price.

The E135 may be unloved, but its a perfect size for T3's niche business model. The company can now cater for charter markets 29 (JS41), 37 (EMB135) and the 50 (SAAB2000). The charter scene for this sort of capacity is deeply underserved at the moment.

E&M Horsburgh Coaches have a good charter service with 30, 40 and 50+ seater buses. And they go tech less.

OLiWW

June to August Eastern reduce the schedule on most routes, especially the mid morning flights.

These will return in September, its just a shame they dont tell all parties
