Read elsewhere that the jets are solely to be used for charters, not sure how true that is.

"As for the possibility of the EMB145 on the HUY - ABZ route, the SAAB is a much more efficient aircraft for that sort of service, as has been proved elsewhere, it can take a lot of pax and a lot of baggage whereas the EMB is significantly more restricted in that respect."

It's not an Embraer 145, it's a 135 but aside that what makes the Saab much more efficient for that sort of service?

Because the Saab carries more pax, uses less juice, probably costs less to finance, and is only a few minutes slower over a sector of that length?

Didn't Eastern have an unsuccessful attempt to use EMB's on their scheduled network a few years ago?

About 12 more seats and about 30% less fuel burn for starters.

ok 12 less seats - is that significant on the route you are talking about, but 30% less fuel burn? I thought they both used around a tonne an hour or am I mistook - both carry about the same amount of baggage - Embraer is a bit quicker and passengers rightly or wrongly like a jet.
Seems a good deal to me
If that was for starters what's for pudding?

ABZ-BGO no longer listed in the T3 timetable section on their website. Is it axed. Also MME-ABZ showing as 3xMon-Thu/2x-Fri/1xSun - Didn't this used to be 4xDaily on weekdays?

Think someone's screwed up updating the timetables as ABZ-MME is still bookable at 4x daily (bar Friday, where they miss the 1st rotation) Mon-Fri, and has been for ages.

I think it was a charter for a certain american popstars european tour. She had a recent hit with "million dollar bill".

I think this is what it cost to sub contract the job out.

Two shiny jets and no crew.

Thought the T3 between ABZ and MME was doing alright...in terms of CAA pax numbers doing better than NCL....not sure about the SOU rotation though.

Think a HUY-CDg route would work not sure with T3 though unless it inter-lined with AF...wouldn't DUB, BFS or LGW work from HUY?

Highly unlikely, BE pulled their BHD route before it even started!

T3 are unlikely to ever offer more than just the ABZ schedule from HUY, not enough demand for other services like CDG, DUB or LGW with those types of fares.

Im sure if they were they would have done it by now, they've had plenty of time to afterall.

DUB and BFS have been proven non events, a route to LGW would cost at least 3 times the First Class rail fare to be viable.
The facts are that there are no viable schedule services from HUY other than ABZ and AMS.
HUY management should have, a long time ago, concentrated on what they could have been good at, i.e bums to he sun.
Unfortunately, MAN PLC were too slow and arrogant to take up the opportunity and any real money making opportunity has been snatched by EMA, Donny and LBA.

It's a shame really, HUY had so much potential but that will never be realised (unless you are the MD of the chalk quarry across the road or the Earl Of Brockelsby's Hunt Master).

In terms of T3 and the current business offering i would agree, but i think we need to wait and see what BE, TCX et al do next year before drawing any conclusions about sun routes, though that is a topic for the Humberside thread.

MME-ABZ is doing ok, not sure where the suggestions of it being cut to 3 a day have come from, as its still 4 a day right through to the winter...

Theres plenty of work for them. The first one hasn't had a chance to catch a breath and he second one is only parked up because of the lack of crews.
