I don't know whether BEE is serious about EGLC-EGJJ, but if they are then it spells the end of either them or Blue Island on this route.

There simply is not enough business on this route to sustain two airlines. Blue Island have a history of giving up when faced with competition which is stronger than they are.

OK Ta. But, now that EZY come on to LGW - and they have demonstrated generally their ability to attract business travellers as well as leisure, is there a loyalty factor for Flybe amongst Jersey business folk travelling into London that will make BE succeed into LCY?

There could be. Who knows ?
What is known is that BEE operated 'JJ-'LC some time ago 3 times daily.
That level of service could not be sustained & it reduced to 1 daily. This was with smaller DH8s; & without competition.
I can't see anything has changed to make a new 3 times daily (by 2airlines) service profitable.
Maybe I'm wrong, but time will tell.

Surely there must be something going on?

All a bit quiet on here, no gossip? Don't believe that. What's the latest?

EZY jER-LGW

From what I have been told, load factors on this route are mighty. Seems that EZY know what services to run, Summer and Winter.

Yes, there are some easyJet increases, mainly in July and August.

Southend goes to 4 flights a week (2 on a Saturday).

Liverpool is 2x daily between Friday and Monday.

Gatwick is still at 3x daily but with different timings from what I can see - i.e. morning flight plus 2 evening flights.

We know about the Blue Island changes. Aurigny has also dropped direct flights to Stansted as well.

Germanwings will operate the Saturday Dusseldorf flight with an A319, which was to be expected. Frankfurt has been dropped by Air Berlin, though I expect this is a decision by the tour operator.

Denmark flights return from Copenhagen and Aalborg between May and September. Probably operated by Atlantic Airways again.

The Flybe Southampton route is maintained at 5x daily on weekdays. New daily Bournemouth route, 2x on a Saturday. Birmingham goes 3x daily on all week days.

Aer Lingus Regional to Cork does not seem to be on sale yet. I hope this has not been dropped?
