The useless information is you telling us it's based at PIK when it isn't, it's hardly been seen all year.

City deal

Am I correct in thinking the proposed train line from city to airport is part of today's agreed city deal? Any time scale for the development to start?

well the train already goes past the airport - but on the wrong side (think EDI as well)

I suspect "improved links" might just be a dedicated bus service......

It's a branch off the mainline with stops for the new AECC and the Airport

I'll believe it when I see it.

ahh - the real reason!!!

"It’s madness that we currently have the station at the wrong side of the airport. “With this, folk travelling to the AECC or airport from the north or the city can easily make it in with no traffic and even have a drink."

I would suggest the rail line is on the RIGHT side of the airport - literally and metaphorically.

The terminal, on the other hand...........

Loganair

Interesting to note in all the recent news concerning Loganair their intention to reinstate a link between ABZ & the Faroes next year, on Fri & Sun. Last scheduled link would have been - 10? years ago or so, with Atlantic A/W 146.
Presume Logie propose to do it with a Saab 2000?

The wording on the press release confused me with the mention of Shetland.

Do they plan to launch ABZ-FAE + LSI-FAE or ABZ-LSI-FAE?

Capt D, from what I understood it was LSI-ABZ-FAE, return (presumably) FAE-ABZ-LSI, so that Shetlanders could clear customs at ABZ.

Well I guess if the oil price stays low they could move the terminal into BP's Dyce complex and push a taxiway through Wood Group.........

Currently the Bergen schedule and foreign charters are cleared at Sumburgh so thats not an issue. I'd be surprised if they get many FAE-LSI pax regularly. Atlantic managed only 1 or 2 on average getting on/off at LSI. Probably ABZ would be the favoured destination.

Flybe

S17 schedule released today - no real changes with BHD, BHX, LCY & MAN.

NQY has been dropped. It didn't do brilliantly with about 80% loads peak and only 60% at the start and end months of May and September.

JER isn't currently bookable with Flybe but is with Jersey Travel on the ABZ Q400.

ABZ-FAE now bookable with Loganair, as previously mentioned on days 5 & 7 from May-August on the Saab 2000. A pretty short season, is the target market Faroes-North East?

I expect the FAE traffic may be both ways. Remember there is a twice weekly flight to EDI for nine months of the year.

Shame about NQY. A boom-time Aberdeen might have sustained the route, but a depressed Aberdeen certainly not.

Not bookable and has been removed from ABZ destinations page.

BE's online timetable isn't exactly famed for its accuracy/up-to-dateness

Edit: NQY now available. Whoops
