Not too keen on a tunnel under the runway....it may make holes start to appear in the runway.....or did that happen the other day!!! Me thinks we stick to the bridge over the runway or maybe the cycle track could come in useful!!!!!

I don't think Flybe have released any winter routes generally yet Househunter.
Flybe thread claims the return of EXT-LBA-ABZ, but it may be just flybe updating their site which results in "old" routes appearing again prior to update.
Plus they & other airlines do make announcements "outwith" the usual windows of releasing summer/winter routes.
I guess "keep checking their website" is the maxim...

So for now the only "announcement" from Flybe is the reinstatement of the EXT-LBA-ABZ from the winter schedules.
bmi seem to be increasing LHR to seven a day at some point - dept0745/arr2320 which, if it goes ahead, would be the latest ever arrival from LHR (obviously!!) Given that BA are looking to cut back services, with shorthaul seemingly in the firing line, & also that they are to axe one of the morning GLA shuttles, would they be looking to trim the ABZ service also? I heard whispers of 767s on one or two schedules next summer - we shall see.
So what's cheaper? Moving the terminal to the east side next to the station, or building a railway line to the terminal on the west side? I suspect both will cost £0.00 - as NEITHER are gonna happen!

There would be no room on the east side for a terminal, as there is insufficient infrastucture space for hotels, car parks, bus stance etc. It is too close to the runway on that side. That is why it went west side years back.
Perhaps Mr Trump will fund the moving of the railway and also relay the track to Ellon while they are about it !

KLM/Air France Gp
5th rotation to AMS announced by KLM, ex Sats.
Both KLM/Air France "committed to continuing to serve Abdn, not pulling out any time soon".
Wonder why $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ?
"Nothing official" re an INV link....which is not NO. Depends on where Big Oil goes I guess.

BAA investment
Well the Trump enquiry is complete, now everyone waits! Whichever way it goes, it'll upset somebody!
BAA are investing some £2m in providing an access road for taxis & buses plus a dedicated drop-off area for passengers, presume to replace the temporary measures borne out of the incident at Glasgow last year.
Work expected to run for some 18wks.
Any news on more carousels (or A carousel)?
Seems there is an Italian AW139 operating from here to an installation offshore just now. Is this competition for the established operators?

That is excellent news seem as Germany is my fave Country. Only wish Munich would have been in there!! Looking for flights next June from ABZ to MUC and all airlines quite expensive, especially my preferred option of Lufthansa.
Now I can research how long it would take on the excellent Bahn from Frankfurt to Bavaria.
On a separate note, heard 3 planes flying low (South Aberdeen) at midnight last night with about 10 mins between each. Sounded as if preparing for landing. Surely not going into ABZ at that time?

Ah thanks, I didn't realise they came in that late.
Had a look at Flybe website and these flights to Frankfurt and Stuttgart are via Birmingham. Still a much cheaper option than the like os BA or KLM!

Polish plane on Thursday
Anybody know what type the Polish registered plane was on Thursday evening? We saw it on the apron near to where the KLM aircrafts are normally parked. I presume it is a Russian built aircraft?

c2lass: I didn't say they were direct flights
Four Fishes: Most likely An26 of Exin. We also had an An12 on Fri, haven't had one of those for a while! Thought they had been banned!
