I suspect AMS is safe enough... not so sure about the other two if the declines continue.

Apr 17 pax figures from memory:

Domestic +2%
International +0.5%
Helis -17%

Welcome, but all very lukewarm. The new leisure/loco routes only contributing to a 0.5% increase shows just how much the international biz routes have declined & continue to do so.

"I'm sure the marginal cost of extracting oil from an existing field is quite low."

depends on the pipeline tariff structure, the Operating cost, when maintenace is due , if the infrastructure all the way to shore is in place.......... and you might keep a field running at a s mall loss to avoid the decommisioning cost

But in general the older fields are bigger, employ more people and helicopters but are more expensive to run and to decommision and are not being replaced by the small fields

Stage 1 of terminal revamp opens

First passengers welcomed to Aberdeen Airport's new international arrivals hall - Original 106

Stavanger passengers first to pass through. Let's hope the baggage carousel coped.

Could bagpipers be the most hideous noise known to man?

Check out the red hot chilli pipers, you may be surprised!

Having had my first flight from ABZ the other week, I look forward to the upgraded facilities, however appealing tarp wrapped scaffold is!

Frankfurt

Nightstopper/early bird outbound doesn't appear to be operating.

Didn't yesterday & isn't schedule tonight either. Temporary measure, or are we down to one flight a day on the E90 now?

If latter, then I don't think FRA is long for der chop.

Just temporary thankfully - normal service resumes Wednesday.

The LH974/5 sometimes doesn't operate around public holidays, has been the case since inception. It is also timed to allow a short connection to IAH.

FWIW, FRA still maintains a good LF on the two rotations in the 80-90% bracket generally.

Arrived back on the Alicante yesterday so got to see the new International Arrivals first hand. Must be said it is quite an improvement on the previous tinpot experience. It's not quite complete though which is the bit the airport doesn't tell you!

Remnants of the pokey old arrivals 'hall' for comparison...

Eight flights a day from Aberdeen to Sumburgh!

Loganair will have to shout loud about their free luggage and Tunnocks caramel wafer!
