VIKING=XL=EXCEL=SABRE=CALEDONIAN=PEACH=AMBASSADOR
Caledonian & Peach Air became JMC which in turn became Thomas Cook. Nothing to do with XL.
Can't speak for the old Ambassador but I think you'll find it has nothing to do with XL either, long before those days in fact.
There is a certain connection with Viking & XL/Excel Airways however.

Oh people!!
Alot of the staff from Ambassador went onto to form & start Sabre that then became Excel Airways/XL.....
But staff being staff, alot carried on with JMC/Caledonian. But then I know a whole raft left & joined, Excel Airways as they started their long haul program.
I have it on reasonable authority that various members of the old XL (management) team went onto to form Viking.....
