Thanks for asking nice to know we are not forgotten!, at my base brs most went to tcx few ezy then rest dotted around at flyglobespan, emirates and qantas to name a few. Very few jobs out of brs these days all temp contracts. Hopefully 2010/11 onwards will bring some employment for those who have put their wings in storage!

I see XL Airlines are flying again......Recentley seen at Lasham a Boeing 737-800 with the XL Logo in blue on the side

The 737 at Lasham is a Viking aircraft wet leased to XL France. Hibrid colour scheme.

Not quite...

Caledonian & Peach Air became JMC which in turn became Thomas Cook. Nothing to do with XL.
Can't speak for the old Ambassador but I think you'll find it has nothing to do with XL either, long before those days in fact.
There is a certain connection with Viking & XL/Excel Airways however.

Oh people!!
Alot of the staff from Ambassador went onto to form & start Sabre that then became Excel Airways/XL.....
But staff being staff, alot carried on with JMC/Caledonian. But then I know a whole raft left & joined, Excel Airways as they started their long haul program.
I have it on reasonable authority that various members of the old XL (management) team went onto to form Viking.....

Oh well. It all seems to have happened again then, doesn't it? Some of the comments made after the time of the Xcel collapse were strangely, and correctly, prophetic......
