I hope that XL manage to keep flying. Their presence on the BGI route was useful opposition to BA and VS. I note that they said that they are going to continue with their flights to Orlando with a 763. Keep flying guys!

No, they posted a valid story. It is galling when some contributors take a strange taste to wishing airlines out of the skies, but it does not help to deny funding issues exist.

In this case funding is clearly an issue - one which will hopefully be resolved.

All I can say is that I hope everything works out well for them, as several of my former FLS colleagues run their Maintenance.

You know I could have sworn I saw a post on Sunday from some mischief making charlie quoting he had 'on good authority' (Don't you just love people who do that!) that XL/Globespan were next to go. They even said they heard it at board level.
Then it suddenly disappeared. Was I hallucinating? Quite how he/she has so many high placed contacts we will have to just wonder.
This is a really tough time and I hope all concerned will get through. At least Oil is down to nearer $100 today. Keep that glass full.

Excel...

Wee one

1st: The forum wouldn't let me use 'XL' as a title therefore i used Excel as a starting point, to which everybody understood what i was getting at. It probably took you a while to understand. Were you looking at spreadsheets or something before you replied?.

2nd: I am incapable of keeping up as i wouldn't have asked the question in the first place. Isn't that what forums are for?.

3rd: I didnt refer to all the press speculation, it was others in the thread that added all of it, which was helpful in my quest for information regardless of the content.

So overall i think YOUR the one that needs to keep up, or are you having difficulty.....as your name suggests.

XL are dropping the Caribean just for the winter to increase flights to Orlando.
The 330 currently at Manch will be wet leased to Finnair for the winter so the Caribean 76 will fill that gap.

Same thread/topic running in T&E
