SIPTU does not own Aer Lingus. If they want to, they should pony up the dough at privatisation. The restrictions on govt investment in state owned airlines will kill EI when FR etc can raise capital whenever they want.

with Ryanair being touted as a shining example of private investment by the likes of Mary Harney, is it any wonder SIPTU want Aer Lingus to stay a semi-state ? The reality of the situation is that the government will not put money in even though they can, so that only leaves outside invesment. Better happen quick while the upswing is on!!!
