Better folk than I predicted as much, it was suggested to only have ever been a temporary measure.

Trislander

Apparently the EASA has granted an extension of Trislander Ops until April 2016

Devil

As an outsider not living in the Channel Islands, I am amazed at the goings on at Aurigny. There doesn't seem to be a coherent policy of replacement for the Trislanders even though they have been talking up the Dorniers for a long time.
Who or what is in charge of this ongoing fiasco?

ATR 42 and Dornier return

Go to Aurigny Facebook page for great photo of GHUET (The ATR42) being prepared for service. Will take on LCY service soon. Note flights are currently being flown by the ATR 72 fleet, so mods must have been made to allow this.

With regard to the Dornier, booking engine on Aurigny website shows ACI - GCI and SOU -ACI services flown By Gruppo 7 Dornier from beginning May (mostly the SOU service ). This may be the return of the first ac, or the second on loan, reputed to be painted In Aurigny scheme..........we wait to see .... Keep watching the webcams?

Seems to be common knowledge now in Alderney that the Gruppo7 Dornier is not coming back. I'm told, when it left on 13th March, they took all their equipment & spares, so Aurigny must have known then.

Aurigny didn't buy it, and I would guess that maybe the letter of intent to purchase has expired, as it was a year ago. Gruppo7 now don't want to sell it to Aurigny. What happens now?

What a mess ! This uncertainty, lack of a workable summer schedule and constant Trislander tech problems, not to mention the pax being bumped off because the flights were booked to 18 and now there's only a Tris', is killing Alderney.

Aurigny's response to Alderney's concerns was the problem was simply perception !!!!!!!!!!!

Surprised about the drama. Cannot be that difficult to find an operator in Europe that operates a Twin Otter, Dornier 228 or Let 410 to fill the gap. Particularly given that Aurigny has been leasing in third-party equipment for its GCI ops in the past as if there was no tomorrow....

That's one of the aircraft FLM used to operate on behalf of Manx2.com, sometimes on the GLO-JER route. As FLM went bancrupt, I am wondering who the lst owner of the aircraft was.

By the way, the aircraft is a sprightly 21 year old gal, built in 1984.
