BBC News - Aurigny gets first replacement plane for Alderney

Average costs of ACMI let 410 range from £863 - £1100 block hour (minimum 100 bh per month and increase with less hrs needed). Silver air of the czech rep offer 17 seat aircraft for around £1100 pbh though cheaper rate can be sought from Africa and S/America

Do228 average £830 pbh with minimum 100hrs but these are USA/Africa rates

Crew rates have to be added which can range from £50-£75 per crew member per day

Tri G-JOEY

I take it there is absolutely no chance of G-JOEY going to the Bournemouth Aviation Museum then as an exhibit to tell the story of Britten Norman and the huge contribution they made to aviation in the South of England? It would make a good home for it! Would it be hard to fly it to Bournemouth on its last flight?

If FR24 can be quoted as evidence, the BN3 seems to be very much still in use betwixt ACI and SOU.

I believe the Dornier is being used for training and as a backup a/c at the moment, so the Tris are still doing the regular sectors.

Presume the Dornier is still on the Portuguese register then as it does not seem to be have a UK registration?

Is it actually in use then?

Dornier utilisation

Webpage by ciaviation.com listing GCI movements shows Dornier doing 3 flights to/from GCI a day (on average) presumably balance of day is on ACI - SOU route

CS-TGG remains registered as such. It is mainly used on training flights with the odd flight or two being operated between Guernsey and Alderney. I am not aware of it operating any Alderney-Southampton flights.

Thanks for the info Ayline.

Looking at the CAA's AOC holders list dated 13 January 2015 the Dornier 228 does not appear to have been added as a type to Aurigny's AOC.

Does anyone know when that is planned to happen?

Expecting an ATR from Brazil next month, is this replacing the VLM machine. If so, I assume it will be getting LCY certified?

Is this ATR a purchase or a lease? What's the variant as that'll dictate if it's Steep Approach mod'd as standard or if a retro-fit is required? Do Aurigny have the approval for LCY? Are their crew trained for it? Sorry, lots of questions but exciting times!

Jetjamie - It's a fifteen year old 42-500 cn 584. I would hope that GR have already been (sim) training crews in preparation for it's arrival.
