They don't! It's a code share with KLM.

If CityJet are successful in winning the Aer Lingus Regional brand from Stobart Air, what happens to Stobart Air's fleet of ATR-42/72? Would the whole lot pass over to CityJet or would it simply transfer over to the CityJet fleet?

Stobart recently agreed a sale / leaseback agreement for the ATR fleet.

the franchise isn't due for renewal until either 2020 or 2021 and it currently works VERY well for both parties ...

They are so happy together that 3 months ago Stobart Group almost sold the airline to Cityjet...

Surprised to see WX codes on KLM flights to Manchester and Newcastle. Not sure I understand the benefit of this in the circumstances; it's not like it they are destinations that fit into their network, that they have connections from, or that they have historical customer loyalty at!

This typically is just part of the commercial agreement on the wet lease. There's some additional return to Cityjet on these flights, although they may not have any real part to play. It puts them on the Cityjet booking site (given that they have one) as well as the KLM one. If Cityjet offered such flights themselves they might get just a handful of pax. Well, that's all to the good to put them on a flight KLM are running anyway.

Carpatair F100 parked at Belfast International this evening, apparently for tomorrow's cruise-ship shuttle to Barcelona on Cityjet codes.

They've had their Superjets on service for the past few weeks after having started with Titan, but it looks they're short of aircraft again.

Antwerp

I've just booked flights to Antwerp. I assumed it would be on an Avro RJ85 but showing as an ATR42. - do they always use this type on this route?

It's been that for a long time, in fact since the VLM F50 operation shut down. Leased from a Lithuanian ACMI operator in all-white livery. It's a very short run.
