CityJet reduced its pretax losses to €30.5 million in 2014:
CityJet reduces losses to ?30m following takeover
Still a significant gap to close. Intensified competition on DUB-LCY in 2015 will not help.

does anyone else have an iffy feeling about this? Can we really see a fleet of 20 Cityjet Sukhois? Who woyld want to buy it? Can only see a wet lease model perhaps working given that a lot of their scheduled route attempts have been duds

I've been fortunate enough to fly on most things out there, including the Aeroflot Superjet 3 times, and i can honestly say hands down it beats pretty much anything else out there in the same size. It is very quiet, comfortable and i'm told it is very efficient. It combines good strong Russian airframe design with Western tech. I can't wait to try it out with Cityjet. The only real competitor to it will be the CS-100..

I agree entirely about the wet lease model, I would hope that this is what is planned. Otherwise Cityjet need to be part of something bigger. The plan to buy the new fleet will centre on a few things,
From my perspective it is only a pity that the order did not go to C-Series, time was not on C-Series side, with certification some way off for LCY I would have thought....

I agree entirely about the wet lease model, I would hope that this is what is planned. Otherwise Cityjet need to be part of something bigger. The plan to buy the new fleet will centre on a few things,
- High cost of operating the ARJs which have 4 engines will be reduced
- The ARJ fleet was the subject of a sale and lease back to raise funds, so the business case for the new jets in terms of lease payments will be easily compared and must surely stack up
- As already said Sukhoi will have given a significant discount to put the type firmly on the map in Western Europe.
From my perspective it is only a pity that the order did not go to C-Series, time was not on C-Series side, with certification some way off for LCY I would have thought....

It isn't just timing that's a problem for the C-Series, also leasing rates; more than an A320CEO say the rumours. The big leasing companies are pricing-in program risk and aiming to cover their investment quicker than normal.
Also Cityjet have probably had enough of geared turbofans for the time being...

Request is for all routes including to allow UA code be displayed for passengers transferring on SK operated T/A flights, so would appear more so aimed at this operation.

The CRJ900 network which Cityjet will operate for SAS this summer has just been published and there are lots of flights to/from the SAS hubs like ARN and OSL, so I would imagine that the UA codeshare filing was done with this in mind.
