Cityjet To Amsterdam

I am sure that I read in the Irish newspapers last August that Cityjet were going to fly a series of routes from Amsterdam and including a 6 daily Dublin frequency on the route. I checked all sites now and it does not appear. The paper also reported that this would be the first use of cityjet at the KLM AF hub for feeder services and the paper also said it would be the first real competition EI have had on AMS DUB??

Anyone know anything??? Cheers.

AMS - DUB and i think AMS - ORK as well is a KLM slot operated by EI.
They will loose the deal with KLM so that might be a reason for the rumours.
But this is what i heard so i don't know for sure.

Cityjet - First RJ arrived

As bitter comments seem to be the agenda on pprune for Cityjet, it's time for a respite and a little bit of good news.

It's a little late but better than not been mentioned!

We are pleased to announce that the first of our 23 new RJ85 aircraft, E2363/EI-RJP has been issued with its certificate of airworthiness on 3rd January 2007.

The aircraft is completing its acceptance flight in Norwich on 5th January, from where it will position to Paris later in the day.

It is scheduled to commence service from Mon 8th Jan.

It will be assigned initially on CDG-ZRH and CDG-FLR, and not the planned CDG-BHX route previously proposed.

The first flight will be AF5100, CDG-ZRH.

The phased introduction of the new aircraft will continue throughout 2007, with the planned acceptance of the second and third aircraft at the end of January and early February respectively.
All aircraft will have undergone a major integration and modification programme and their introduction marks the culmination of a significant period of planning and training.

For us, our passengers and our shareholder, the introduction of the new aircraft is to be welcomed in the on-going development of CityJet.
So there you go its a great aircraft, the cabin is much better and more comfortable. Passengers certainly will be happier with us.

Well done Cityjet its been a longtime coming but the first one finally arrived.

WX to AMS

Nice piece of new EI-RB. There was noise about WX on AMS DUB before about a year ago. Would be nice to see it. But I could never see Aer Lingus coming off that route. They enjoy good loads on it. But if WX could duplicate what they have done on DUB CDG well EI would probably lose out to them in a big way. Last few times I have used EI on DUB CDG the loads have not been great . And while realising its yield that counts , it doesnt look too promising when the route is only 3 a day and WX do 7 I think.

WX have come along way and they have shown they can compete on major international routes. Good luck to them.

The new routes are all from LCY

Geneva
Madrid
Milan Linate
Nice
Zurich
Dundee
Edinburgh
Belfast City

They ruled out any short-term expansion from Dublin

Looks like they are after BA Cityflyer. Anyone know the frequencies and what the times are like for these new flights? I thought LCY was not far rom full at peak times so my guess is that some of these flights might not have the most convienent times for business passengers

EDIT - EDI/DND/BHD are in co-operation with Scot Airways

Expansion?

I cannot seem to book any of the recently announced routes on the web, does anyone know when they will be available to book.

With only 4 weeks until launch they had better get their finger out or they will be operating empty planes.

Also BHD/LCY isn't bookable on the Scotairways website either.

booking new routes.

As these are Air France routes rather than wx routes, should they not be booked via Air France web site rather than WX

Booking

Sorry, should have said it was the Air France website I was trying to book them on.

It either says the route is not available at all or suggests some other routing.

Incidently it is not available to book on the Cityjet website either.

Cityjet Paris Dublin this morning

An AF Cityjet flight from Paris cdg -Dublin diverted en route to Manchester. The plane had technical difficulties.

Wx sent another plane to MAN and it was due back in Dublin by 1615.

Does anyone know was this a 146 or an ARJ and what went wrong?

I guess that replaces the LHR-Strasbourg route, with the LHR AF slots
rumoured to be used by fellow Skyteam member Delta for LHR-US flights

Oh I thought they operated lots of regional French routes from LHR
with BE 146 in AF colours....my mistake ...seems like the current AF
Strasbourg route goes from LGW....so would the LCY be additional
or instead of LGW ?

Strasbourg is the last remaining AF Gatwick route isn't it? So moving it to LCY would allow them to pull out of Gatwick alltogether

Will the dornier 328 currently opereating on the bhd-lcy route be repainted into the cityjet livery and fitted with leather seats or is this route different to Dundee and Edinburgh
