yeah ive heard that this is there plan, i think they hope to eventually have up to 25 rj s. its a good move by wx in my opinion. not much of a transition crew and maint wise.
the market will be flooded with the 146s though but id hazzard a guess in saying it will not happen over night, id say it will be one at a time ish..

....have read talk somewhere that BAE are considering opening up the 146 freighter conversion business again. The conversion on the new-build QT's and QC's was subbed-out originally, if I remember correct.

How about 757's?
I heard in the airport the other day someone talking about 757's for WX, sure must be a mistake or something! Can't imagine it. But maybe some of you heard the same thing?

....you'd be hard-pressed to get 100 seats into an RJ85. If these are the ex-Mesaba a/c, they are I believe operated 5 abreast, which gives a capacity of about 70. Even if re-fitted to 6 abreast, I think the max is about 95.

Anything WX ops in non AF code they can op whatever type they like is my info. So 757 can't be ruled out for that reason. Could be wrong mind.

Cityjet is limited by an Air France scope clause to 99 seats. Even if the config on a given day allows more seats, we can't sell them and are limited to 99 no matter what.
If the route justified more than 100 seats, AF would be operating it themselves.

They will be using the RJs on the same AF franchise routes (Paris-LCY, FLR, BHX, GOT, ZRH, etc) as they do with the BAe 146-200s/300s (17 of them if I recall), plus a SBY a/c and the remainder for network "expansion". Remember that as an AF franchise operator, they might take over some routes where AF (mainline) do not operate profitably and/or that do not justify anything bigger than a 99-seater - or a route where runway length justifies a STOL aircraft (FLR, LCY).
