With Eastern - There is no plan, hasn't been a plan for the last few years.

They just react to things as they happen, good or bad.

I really don't understand why they have "acquired" ASW only to then run it into the ground. So far they have killed off alot of your routes, returned aircraft, and downsized the whole operation. Surely the whole point of an acquisition is to grow a business. Bigger, better , more profits etc.. I can see the logic in trimming of any duplication in ops, crewing etc, but to chop the fleet and routes right back?

The net result is no bigger than when T3 was on its own??

Eastern was paid to take ASW. They can just run ASW in and take the aircraft for Eastern ops. Free aircraft for them.

Sad, sad, sad.
However bad things are there is no excuse for treating people poorly. That's just unprofessional.

Bon Voyage

In no particular order: Alan, George, Julie, Kerry, Lee, Matt, Rob (and Graham too) it's been a pleasure to know you all for what feels like much too short a time. Your professionalism and wit in the face of adversity does you all credit and you should be proud of how you dealt with all those operational challenges and more recent political ones too. That goes to all the "behind the scenes" folk who slipped away last week. Good luck to all of you.

Incidentally, anyone know if the AOC transfer actually went through?

So T3, lets see some sign of that commitment to the southwest. Bookable flights after 1st November would be a nice start. Or is that the date the lucky 10 get to relocate to Aberdeen with A&B.

I've spoken to them all in my capacity as an ATCO at NQY, and every one of them have been exemplary.
To my knowledge, only one of them has managed to find another job, albeit a seasonal-only.
They all deserve to go on to bigger and better prospects.
My best wishes to you all I will miss you guys.

AFAIK, the AOC transfer is somewhat transient, the ASW callsign is still being used mostly, though there is an occasional "Eastflight" going on...

Sad times indeed,

good bye to all the ops staff, its been a pleasure to have worked with you (more so now I have worked with the 'others')

EGHQ - my favourite was when a NQY cc night stopped in plh and did a plh flight, at the same time a PLh cc night stopped in nqy, rostered to do a nqy flight but ended up sat a health spa for 3 days on stby.

or more recently, the FO and CC on standby in abz, but with no captain, and no AC!

or how about selling a flight with 3000 ibs of cargo, on a ac that can only carry 2500!

Thanks Foxy, assuming that applied to the normal schedule flights, guess that answers that one then. So nice to be kept in the loop

This is for safety reasons the safety case will say, but there is no Ply Mil radar cover for PCA before 8 am Monday to Friday or at weekends so why are they still flying during those periods. Double standards by a company looking to get out early.

Plymouth closure

Not a good sign for an airport that is expecting any future - the flipside is that this has to be good for Exeter, which has excellent transport links and a giant runway (from what I remember). Maybe there is some truth in the suggestion that easyjet are looking at it, now the most local competition is on the way out?
