No significant changes for W08 - just a bit of "trimming" of leisure routes (Jersey, Cork, Dublin) as usual during quieter months.
Plymouth-Newquay-Grenoble runs Dec-Mar.
Plymouth-Leeds now operates twice-daily (M-F).
So, from Plymouth:
Gatwick, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Newcastle, Cork, Dublin, Jersey, Bristol, Grenoble.
And from Newquay:
Gatwick, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Newcastle, Cork, Dublin, Bristol, Grenoble.

Nov Domestic figures for ASW down 33%
ASW down 33% year over year on domestic routes according to latest CAA data(Nov 08 vs Nov 07), and that's before the NQY shutdown on Dec 1st. That has got to be hurting financially. Other airlines for comparison:
EZY (11%)
BA (23%)
BMI (16%)
WW (19%)
EZE (22%)
Flybe (3%)
For Clarity: All bracketed figures are declines.

I believe a merger between Air Southwest and Blue Islands has been on the cards for quite some time. It makes a lot of sense for both airlines. They have complimentary route networks, Blue Islands want to expand to 50 seat aircraft allegedly and there is the management connection is there not? In these though times the only way forward is consolidation for these smaller airlines like Air Southwest. Blue Islands are a strong company of that I have no doubt but Air Southwest are seeming more and more vunerable by the day.

What's your source for the Nov statistics? As far as I can see from CAA website, only the provisional airport statistics for Nov have been published, and they don't give a breakdown by airline - only by route (and since ASW weren't the only operator on the NQY-LGW route in Nov07, that makes it impossible to work out what ASW's pax were versus last year).
I suspect that ASW are more or less on par with last year overall. Some of their routes will be down (because some frequency reductions and the overall state of the market) but also some new routes like GLA and NCL which seem to be doing ok.

Blue22....
Actually ASW must be doing ok, based on the CAA airport pax numbers for November - as Plymouth (where they are the only operator) was 14% up overall, whereas Exeter by comparison was 26% down.

The NQY closure is bound to have affected ASW badly at the time, because they are by far the biggest operator there. But they managed the situation well, operated all the flights from Plymouth with ground transport provided from Newquay, and importantly didn't enter into a punch-up via the media like Ryanair did at the time. This will have earned them brownie points in the local community, which will be good for them now that things are back to normal.

I do speak to them and they were a little worried as you and I both know the employees are always the last to know.........and I know that people on here are pretty well connected and have good sources so just a quick post to see if anybody had any info. Anyway the guys down at ASW dealt with the NQY closure really well. Well done to everyone ASW.
