Also another thought regarding MH, they recently dropped their pure freighter service (op Air Atlanta, I think) due to belly capacity on the passenger flights. With the demise of those, are Manchesters freight managers chasing the reinstatement of the freighters ?
They still have to drop in at Manchester as the U.S. will not accept direct flights from Pakistan for security issues, they are i believe opperating direct from US to Pakistan on the return leg.

I don't know if this has already been posted, but according to aviationjobsearch, Gulf Air are looking for cabin crew from Manchester. Could look promising for a service by GF? Maybe the new service by EY has put them off the idea?

For the "Spotters" the new skyEurope B737 was in today

The Toronto and New York trips are using the 777LR.

Canada allows direct flights.

USA not impressed with Pakistan security arrangements so will only allow direct flights FROM US therefore the 777LR drops in for a fuel stop at MAN 4 times a week on it's way from KHI to JFK.

Cool

I'd be more worried about their maintenance standards out of MAN!

Presumably, all of the passengers have to disembark at Manchester ? Otherwise, how does this suddenly improve the security ? Do they drive the plane through a huge metal detector ?

G-LSAA based in MAN? First I have heard. Where did you hear that? Think LBA is comitted to 2 757's now fdor the summer. My roster is packed with 757 flights from LBA, seems almost all the spain flights from LBA are 757 ops.

I also heard from one of your fellow cabin crew members that 'AA will be MAN based, therefore 'AB and 'AC (if and when finally arrives) will be LBA based.

God, that will confuse things a little. Aparantly G-LSAC is to have 235 config, but AA and AB only have 228. No good if an aircraft swop is needed. I will have to keep an ear to the ground.

It mainly a maintenance issue, G-LSAA / AB are proven to be fairly reliable with all the post delivery snags ironed out. So 'AC' will be where most of the engineering and spares are to start, which is Leeds. So I'm led to believe.

A jubilee clip and some sticky tape does the trick.

Considering the mess that 747 made on the taxiway the other day perhaps people in glass houses should refrain from chucking pebbles......

Thomsonfly have announced

4*weekly Marrakech
5*weekly Salzburg

for winter 06/07

Also various Flights to Canaries although doesnt look to be much more than a different way of marketing their existing charter ops
